So apparently demand in Japan is so high now that some stores are buying back people's units if they have all the packaging/etc. at higher than retail, then selling them at higher than retail. LOL
If you order one off Lik-Sang it's going to cost you $200 now.

any true gamer here should know why the Japanese don't like the xbox. For the same reason I don't like the Xbox. The kinds of games and gameplay don't appeal to me. I would rather play mario party on the 64 than need for speed or madden 2006.

Forgot, true gamers only play Mario Party on the 64, oldz schoolz style.
But seriously, Xbox doesn't have 'hardcore gamerz' type of games? Did you happen to forget that it plays host to Outrun 2, or what about Panzer Dragoon Orta, or wait, there's also Shenmue 2, oh and Metal Slug 3, and then there's some Guilty Gear X2, etc etc.
Doesn't really matter which system you play games on people, just buy'em. I hate Microsoft, and guess what, I bought the 360.
I enjoy it too.

I remember news stories from the N64 launch. Man that was crazy. But lucky me, I got an N64 that Christmas.. but no game. My parents said they found one hidden on a shelf pushed back. I was lucky then. I didn't get a game until mid-January when my uncle found a copy of Mario 64 and shipped it to us. Man, what a super ultra happy day that was loading up my N64 for the first time and hearing that oh so familiar "Ding! It's me! Mario!"
I can't wait for the US launch. I was gonna get the black one before I realized it's blue. Bah. I'll get the white one instead. UNLESS they bundle it with NEW Super Mario Bros. Then I'll get that. I hope they do.

A guy I work with knew someone that was in Japan the week of the Lite launch and asked me if I wanted one. I said sure, although there was no way I figured we'd actually get one. Which is good 'cause I really didn't want to spend the money anyway (I just have a hard time saying no to an opportunity like that) :)
(I did buy a new game for my DS, 'just in case,' and have been enjoying Mark Kart 64 since :D)
And can we drop the Xbox in Japan thing? They'll turn it around if/when they start making Japanese RPGs and other games that appeal to that market, we get that. So stop with the :deadhorse:
