I'm trying to make a list of games that have erotic content as a mainstay.

First off, I thought REZ, due to the Trance Vibrator.

I still maintain that REZ & the Trance Vibrator were not intended to be used for sexual stimulation. I have yet to see anything which would lead me to believe it was designed with that in mind. The kinesthetic component simply complements the gameplay (e.g. see the vibrating headphones which were used to demo REZ in Japan).

Wouldn't it be easier to just look into the sea of hentai games out there? On the console side of things, most are on PC Engine, PC-FX, and Saturn (most other hardware developers didn't approve of pornographic content on their machines, so that's why, for example, there are no licensed hentai games on any Nintendo system). However, to hit the big pay load, you gotta look in Japanese Windows games. You could write a hundred page psychology paper on games like Battle Raper and Water Closet. :P

But yeah, looking into those kinds of titles would make a lot more sense than making a big stretch to construe Cho Aniki and Rez as "erotic" games. Innuendo-laden, yes, but far from having literal erotic content.

It should also be noted that there's a distinct difference in hentai dating simulations and clean dating simulations. While I'd be lying if I tried to claim that I can't imagine some guys being sexually attracted to Tokimeki Memorial characters, the games certainly have no erotic content of any kind, and plenty of people play them just for the fun of the games (not unlike how someone may enjoy the dating aspects of Harvest Moon even if they personally have no attraction to the characters).

I'm looking for more games that are very ertoric in their content. It's got to be something that really encompasses the etire game, and not simply a Hot Coffee level worth of content.

Check out Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh for the PC CD-ROM. It's a point-and-click adventure in the vein of King's Quest, but its set in contemporary America. One of your (female) co-workers is your 'significant other,' but at the same time, you have repressed feelings for a male friend of yours who works at the same company as well. Plus, an adventerous co-worker of yours named Therese seduces you, and introduces you to S&M.

It's not a "pornographic" game, but it does feature nudity (not to mention some pretty graphic gore). The game would probably earn an R rating if it were a movie.

The original Phantasmagoria game also featured sexual content, but it can hardly be classified as erotic: your character is raped by her demon-posessed husband during a non-interactive FMV sequence.

Both Phantasmagoria games deal with sexuality in a mature and realistic way, but it would be unfair to classify them as "pornographic" just because sexuality is involved.

The Rumble Roses games have their share of naughtiness. I've only played the PS2 version, so I can only comment on that. There's no nudity, but the game is meant to tittilate.
