I was going to bid until I saw... $6.50 for media mail shipping.

Well don't bid. Noone is forcing you. No need to hijack my thread with a post like that. By the way I did make a mistake when I listed the shipping and reduced it.

Like I said before some immature, jackass mod deleted my post:

Yeah, it's best to walk on egg shells around here with Berserker on the 12-year-old power trip routine. You don't want to step an inch out of line here or he'll end up deleting your posts entirely. If you're not smooching someone's brown-eye, I guess there is no need in even posting.

I attempted to help shaggy out by nicely fixing his broken link and got booted from this thread totally.

Good luck with your auction shaggy (if that's still an acceptable gesture). Phoenix Wright is a great game and impossible to find retail.

Knock it off dude. The last thing you want to do is go into the whole "fascist" thing.

Free bump for Shaggy's auction.

It's not fascist if YOU DESERVE IT.

The game isn't old - but it went out of print very quickly and can't be found in any stores anymore. Your only bet is eBay, and the game goes for quite a bit of cash there.

Well thanks for the free bumps. I didn't know a topic of mine could cause so much ruckus. LOL. Phoenix Wright did go out of print here in North America that's why Ebay is the only place to find it.

By the way I did make a mistake when I listed the shipping and reduced it.

It didn't hold then because it still shows $6.50 for media mail shipping.

For clarity, I didn't split it off just because of what you did here. I split it off because of what you did HERE (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=81448). Seriously... if you're really "just trying to help", then why are you insulting the people you're "helping", AND the mods? Honestly, who exactly are you trying to help?

The truth is actually that I don't mind people junior modding in here, in general. However, if you're going to be a complete ass to EVERYONE involved while doing it, then I do have a problem with it. Helping out fellow members is good, but to be honest, it's not necessary. We've got 4 people here whose job it is to do this, and we've actually got powers to do it effectively.

So, if all you're going to do is insult everyone while trying to "help", then your help isn't really wanted around here. I don't hold a personal grudge against you, and your insults towards me don't really mean anything. But I'm still not going to allow you to junior mod around here anymore.

Actually any DS game unless wrapped in iron would and should be mailed first class. It will be cheaper than media mail $1.11-$1.35 compaired to Media Mail's starting rate of $1.59.

Also, you CAN'T use Media Mail to ship game carts. It's a USPS rule. I recall an earlier thread of mine where this was discussed... In short, any videogame that can't be read by a computer through traditional means cannot be shipped media mail.

I used to ship stuff via Priority only, but these days I'm starting to ship game CDs through first class mail. It's much cheaper if you're shipping a one CD / DVD game with a manual like this, and it's faster, too. :)

Yea, it wouldn't let me switch it because I think someone had already bid so I had to edit the description.

This hasn't been clarified for sure yet. I do know for a fact that my post office believes that videogames and computer software are absolutely allowed under the current rules. I've also read here of others who's post offices feel otherwise. Unfortunately I think it's currently up to the individual post offices to enforce the rule as they see it.

How can they check if you send games or not? They arent allowed to open the mail.

With the whole terrorism/anthrax thing, I would bet there is some clause somewhere that says they may open packages.

Also, it's a crime (felony even?) to use their packing materials they give you for shipping methods they aren't meant for. How are they supposed to check on that?

The Postal Service in the US has reserved the right to open mail for a long time, usually under suspicion of drug trafficking, illegal goods, other potentially hazardous materials or abuse of media mail rates. Customs here can open any package inbound at their discretion but they're not nearly as proactive about inspecting mail contents as Canada and just about every European country.

I'm not entirely certain where you live but it's a good chance your country does it with regularity, how you came to the conclusion otherwise baffles me. Germany, Finland and France in particular love to peek into imported parcels to see what taxes they get to tack on to their recipients.

The laws that enable the USPS to open mail most importantly regulates idiots that send flammable, pressurized objects that could wreck havoc in airplanes.

I dont live in the US, but I doubt the post office are allowed to open mail without authorisation from the police. But i dont think they will say "hey, this package looks like its containing a PS2 game" and then call the police etc.

PS2/Xbox/GC games are about the same size as a DVD also. I guess the rule about not shipping games is just a policy. Theres no good method to control if games are being sent or not. Opening all mediamail will take ages.

The USPS is a government organization, there is no police authorization involved.

Are you 100% sure? Imagine how many that works for USPS and how many that can open the mail. They do have usps.gov as domain so i could have guessed. But I think its strange that they can do it even if they are a goverment organization.

After 9/11, the US Postal Service was allowed to do package searching to prevent any terrorist attacks. It's only for very, VERY suspicious packages, not for standard parcels and such. If the item weighs a lot, is leaking, smells funny, has wires or thread sticking out of the seams, or isn't addressed to any person in particular (a real name versus Mr. President of the Company, for instance), it's tagged as suspicious. My local post office has a poster in the wall where they explain all these warning signs.

Most videogame parcels don't count, so you shouldn't be afraid of getting tagged as a terrorist. :)

The USPS has always been able to open and inspect media mail to ensure that they are not being scammed. No, it doesn't happen all the time, but it DOES happen.

Aside from possible terrorist threats, media mail is the ONLY parcel they are allowed to randomly inspect.
