Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong forum...
I'm heading from upstate NY to New Haven, CT for a concert tomorrow and was wondering, any recommendations for good game stores that would be along the way? The route is essentially I90 to Springfield, then south to CT. Just wondering if there might be any cool places to check out beyond the regular EB/Gamestop stores.
Thanks!

Na, Massachusetts really sucks when it comes to gaming and thrift type stores (at least where I live). I guess your best bet is stopping in at one of the places listed on NECG's hotspot map (http://www.azureware.com/cgi-bin/necg/mods/showhtml/showhtml.pl?id=hotspot) and hope for the best.
Oh, and who are you seeing?

Pepe's isn't that great of pizza. Honestly. People are just ridiculous over it. My dad loves it, and I've been taken there multiple times and it isn't that great.

well as far as game stores go - they have realy been sucking in CT
BUT you may find something good in this store called shakespeares in the Trumbull mall - last time i was there they had a wide variety of games -- but the store is very very messy -- also the prices are real wacky
Westfield Shoppingtown Trumbull Mall
Address: 5065 Main Street, Trumbull CT 06611
and if you want to stop into a place to play arcades
i think Dadd's xtreme indoor sports had the best selection of arcades 867 boston post rd west haven CT

Hey guys, thanks for the tips! I ended up running late and only managed to hit a few Gamestops that had some stuff I was looking for (Chocobo Racing, Chocobo Dungeon 2, Legends of Mana & Phoenix Wright), but I ended up 1 for 4 on CD2. Oh well, the concert was good (Whitehouse/Wolf Eyes) at least!

no wonder -- i went there one day at noon and it was closed -- i thought the guy was being a lasy ass
damn -- i thought he had good buisness -- i saw people buying stuff all the time -- and every time i was in the store someone walked in to get ripped off on the service deal
man what a surprise - that realy blows - i used to always find something there when i went

I'm not surprised he closed. That mall just isnt the kind of place that a normal Joe can have that kind of store. Honestly I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. Rent must have been absolutely brutal. I wouldn't be surprised if he just moved a few miles down the road to Bridgeport where he can probably get a new shop twice the size for a lot less.

yea it was real dirty in there -- PS2 and xbox parts all over the place -- i wanted to buy some drives off him and he wouldn't sell any to me
i hope he only moved, he was like the last place in CT where i could find something older everytime i walked in
i seriously thought that he was makeing money - just becasue everytime i was there people were buying stuff - mabey it was just my timing - i was actualy thinking that mabey the mall management kicked him out becasue his shop was an eye sore

Interesting, I did a search on Shakespeares on the web and came across someone talking about it on his myspace page. Seems like it moved to Fairfield. I can be mis reading this. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=8737898 I don't have nor want a myspace account. Any one here have one? If so it would be cool if you can contact the guy and ask what he knows about it. Post the info here.

Hey everyone, I am actually at Shakespeares right now, he moved to Fairfield, CTm he has a message for everyone.::
hey, guys, we're back in business! the mall has been raising rent like crazy, so it no longer made any sense whatsoever being there. we're located in the bob's stores plaza on the post rd in fairfield (915 post rd). it's right off exit 22 off 95. the store is still messy, but not nearly as bad as before, but the ugly cardboard cutouts are still there! u guys crack me up with your posts. i never realized how popular my store was! i appreciate it! our phone number is 203-255-1300 (or u can use the old phone # which is forwarded into the store: 203-373-9872.) we still fix stuff (which explains the mess) and we're trying to make the prices less "wacky"! take care. hope to see u guys soon!

Late to the convo but some of the EBs around me (SW Fairfield county) carry Dreamcast games and SNES stuff. The inventory hardly ever changes but occasionally I'll find something fun there.
Pepe's rocks! There are so many great pizza places around here. I really missed East Coast bread when I lived in Colorado.
