gameplay very underwhelming! >_< I got the original snes much better
but the game still has snes style graphics and mellowdrama which makes the expierence better.
anyone else have thoughts on it?

I actually would really like to get this game, but I'm waiting for the price to drop and hoping that it doesn't disappear in the meantime. I'm cool with paying $20-25 for a new copy, but I can't quite justify $35 at this point...

Did they keep the opening theme song with vocals intact? It sure is catchy..... :-D

I'll stick with my SNES Dejap translation of the game and save my $25-$35. Besides, I've played through it enough times anyways...no need to do it again.

Not comparing it to other versions, how is the game itself? Looking to pick up a RPG fix and this may suit the bill...Good story?

The opening song is not there..

It's sort of a mish-mash between the SNES and Playstation versions. A lot of the graphics are taken from the PS1 version, and the battle system is mostly based off of that one as well however I think the overworld and music are taken from the SNES version (the overworld was shitty 3D on the PS1). I bought the import a few years ago (it's old!) and enjoyed it for what it was.. but it does suffer from the Pre-Tales of Eternia battle system, which means it's slow and clunky ESPECIALLY if you've played anything Eternia (Destiny II US) or above.

As far as compared to the SNES version? Better in every way in my opinion.

Still a solid product for portable adventuring though.

It's $24.99 at Fry's if you have one near you!

Now I do, I guess.

There's a ton of copies at my local Best Buy (stopped in to see what's on store shelves, and get updated catalogs - all they had were the Sony PS2 and PSP catalogs, so I'll have to keep an eye out for new Nintendo ones).

Oh no, if there's no opening song, then it's a sure bet there's no barking dog either!!

See Euclid, future, top right house.

Erk, double post.

Well some stuff about ToP then. 1 of the major factors I want to compare is if DEJAP really did go overboard with their translation [lewdness wise]. The official 1 that was just released is no doubt tamer.

Stupid 2nd double post.

Well this isn't going to be wasted. A major complaint is that the voices were changed from the original cast. The reasons for this are pretty obvious, and I usually do welcome voice dubs [it shows at least they're making an effort to localise].
