How about Dead Or Alive 4
videogameking26
03-08-2006, 05:07 AM
Call of Duty 2
Full Auto (I know many hate this but I can't get enough of how fun it is)
Dead or Alive 4
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Looks awesome as I just picked this up yesterday)
Burnout: Revenge (must if you haven't played it for the current-gen consoles)
Prefect Dark Zero
Project Gotham Racing 3
Ridge Racer 6
Any of the above are prefect for your first game..enjoy :)

No, seriously.
That marble game looks like a great game. Great multiplayer too.

Marble Blast Ultra!
Project Gotham Racing 3 is great, online is decent as well
Ghost Recon comes out this week.

Oblivion, which comes out March 20th. That will give you hundreds of hours of gameplay.

"Oblivion", absolutely a must get as it will go down in the "Game Hall Of Fame".
And "Perfect Dark Zero" you should get, as well.

I second Geometry Wars, Call of Duty 2 is top notch

I simply can't reccomend PDZ... it was the reason I bought the system and while I'm certainly glad I did, PDZ has to be the most disappointing title I've played. It could have been so fantastic, but it just doesn't play well. It's not hard because it's hard, it's hard because no matter how you jack the settings it's impossible to aim. Top that off with the fact that Call of Duty 2 is available and a far better game and you don't have much reason to play PDZ.
DOA4... I have my gripes. I'll link you to this blog entry and emphasize this: If you haven't played a DOA game, this is not the one to start on. Series veterans only need apply.
http://www.digitpress.com/forum/weblog_entry.php?e=2451
For a full-on awesome reccomendation, there are a bunch, but if you're going for "bang for you buck" you can't go wrong with pretty much any of the arcade titles mentioned. $5 for Geometry Wars is a steal.
In terms of full blown "next-gen" games though, Oblivion is the obvious choice for longevity. If you like RPG's in any remote fashion or have played Morrowind or any of the BioWare titles, you'll probably get an intense amount of pleasure out of Oblivion.
For a racer, I'm going to have to suggest Project Gotham 3 over Burnout Revenge. Burnout is a great game no doubt, but all the insanely deep online features of PGR3 make it the better buy for extended play, and if you've never played a PGR game it'll be an especially wonderful treat.
Other titles that'll net you 10 hours or so that are definitely worth a rent or an "on the cheap" buy are Kameo and Condemned, or even King Kong. They definitely do a great job of showcasing the power of the system (on an HDTV at least) and are well worth any gamers time.

DOA 4 is my #1 reccomended 360 game its the first DOA game i have spent more then 30 minutes with and i absolutly love it. As you probly noticed we also have a DP DOA4 get together on the weekends whitch is boatloads of fun.
PGR 3 and Condemmned are also both amazing games and worth checking out.
Also be warned about Perfect Dark: Zero you definitly need to rent that one before you buy it.

DOA4 or COD2.
I'll be checking out Ghost Recon. See how that goes.

Since i started the DP DOA4 Get together who would i be not to put the game as my number one reccommendation? Ingore the Nas-sayer EGM and give the game an honest shot. It's really fun and it's even more fun online.
Aside from DOA4, i must say COD2 is an excellent SP game and maybe one of these days when the moon aligns just right an MP patch will be released and then it will be a fun MP game.
Geometry Wars is still an amazing game, same goes for Marble Blast Ultra and if you love retro games the arcade has you covered with Robotron, Crystal Quest, Joust, Gauntlet and many more soon to come.
Oh and FN Round 3 is fucking gorgeous.

Geometry Wars
No, seriously.
I second that vote. As for real games, PGR3, and DOA4. Burnout Revenge and Ghost Recon Advanced Warrior come out today, and GR:AW has gotten a good review at IGN. I'm thinking about getting it on my way home from work.
Oh... and also be prepared to be spending some serious time on Hexic HD.

Grab Burnout Revenge; it came out today. Avoid the other shlock; they'll just make you cry that you spent $60 on some broke ass game.
Also download Marble Blast Ultra and Geometry Wars from the arcade.
You're set.
Best racer? Need For Speed Most Wanted. The others are close.......but NFS edges them out. Best graphics on the machine IMO (but marginally).
Biggest surprise for me was Call Of Duty 2, typically NOT my genre of choice. I rented it......but will be buying it in order to get all of the Achievements for the other difficulties. Pure magic and one not to be missed.
Biggest disappointments were Perfect Dark (yawn) and Kameo (way too "busy" actionwise)......and I'm a huge Rare fan from way back. One has you falling asleep, and the other overwhelms you.
Try Condemned. It's creepy.

I disagree about Kameo. I though it was great.
Condemned was great fun for me, I don't usually play games of this type. I've read bad reviews for this games (the action is unimpressive), but I think it's about what you expect from it.
QUAKE IV. This game gets no love. At GameCrazy the other day a custoimer asked what 360 games to get for his son who was a big Halo 2 fan. The clerks ketp telling him COD2. I wanted to shout Quake!!!
Zuma...download it.
Do0wnload the Fight Night demo, and Full Auto Demo. Try before you buy. I don't think you could go wrong with either game though.
Ghost Recon looks promising....and I too am on the Oblivion bandwagon...
Fable the Lost Chapters, and Half-Life 2 lok fantastic if you have a 720P TV.

For launch games, I would go with:
King Kong
Need For Speed: Most Wanted
NBA 2K6
COD2
PGR3
Those are the 5 best launch games IMHO.
For recently released, I would get Fight Night Round 3, if you have any remote interest in Boxing. It's like real freaking life. At least when it comes to boxing. A ten round fight in this game, is like controlling a real boxer in a 10 round fight, it's pretty freaking spectacular.
For the next wave, I would be very interested in:
Far Cry 360
GRAW
Burnout Revenge 360
Oblivion
College Hoops 2K6 360
Xbox Live Arcade must have games:
Mutant Storm Reloaded
Marble Blast Ultra

None!
The xbox 360 has no games worth spending that kind of money on.
I think DOA 4 is the only title worthy of a buy. But Im not spending that kinda flow for 1 game.
Im waiting it out! It will someday go down in price and have a lot better choices to pick from. The system is sweet ...No doubt!
I guess i just don't understand what the big deal is. People are freaking out over this new xbox. Hell bring on the new Nintendo and ps3!!!!!!

Wow - this thread sure has a range of choices, eh?
Here's the games I enjoy:
COD2, Quake4, Kameo, PGR3
Of course, do yourself a favor -
1. Get XBox Live set up.
2. Download a trial version of every XBox Live Arcade game.
3. Spend the $62.50 for some Microsoft Points.
I bet you'll find that you spend that $62.50 on games you can't stop playing!
XLA games that I like: Geometry Wars, Crystal Quest, Joust, Zuma, Marble Blast.
Before I got my 360, I said... "I'll never spend $5 on silly little old games." Boy, was I wrong.

Yes. You don't understand. Hope this helps. Pound for pound the Xbox 360 games are as good as anything out there. It just lacks the 'Halo', 'Resident Evil 4', etc.

Im not saying its a bad system. I just said i don't understand why everyone is freaking out over the 360. Why not wait it out awhile and spend alot less. Plus it will have better games later on.
Im not much of a xbox fan. Thats why im not all about it. Plus $400.00 for the system with hard drive is just SICK.
Or $300.00 but then you have to buy a bunch of shit. Not like back in day. I remember buying an atari new. And getting 2 controllers, paddles and a game. And that was all you needed to start out. Same goes for the NES..You got 2 controllers, a pack in game and a light gun. Now, with The xbox 360 you have to buy a bunch of crap. And those extra's aren't cheap...$20 For a face plate, $100 for hard drive, Wireless conroller $50 and regular controller $40. Microsoft is stickin' it to you!
But not me...I'll wait to get it cheaper and have more to choose from in games. Like maybe some RE 5 action.

Try playing the games and focusing less on the costs. DOA4 amazing, COD2 amazing, Condemned amazing, Live Arcade amazing, Live Market Place amazing, there's so many little things it does above and beyond what you'd expect.
Besides in today's world it's not like $399 is an unreasonable price to pay. Microsoft isn't sticking it to you, they're just playing the game. Business is business.
These aren't the good old days of yore. Technology is expensive.

Did you not read what i wrote?? I didn't say it was a bad system And DOA does look great. But why not wait for it to take a price drop? Plus theres not many great games for the 360 at the moment.
These are my opinions!!! I know not everyone agrees with me and thats fine. Im an old gamer...Id rather play atari and nintendo over x box anyday of the week. I think playstation is the better newer console. PS3 will probably blow the xbox away. And at the same time have a great selection of games to choose from. Games like halo and grand theft auto bore me to death.
I know im not living in the good ole days and technology is exspensive these days. But why so many damn add ons at such a hefty price tag?

Why are you junking up a thread about the best Xbox 360 games to get when you don't even have an Xbox 360.
Stay out of the thread.
Backon topic:
I enjoyed Perfect dark Zero, thought it was great.
King Kong was fun also.
But both of them were to short and had their flaws.
I'm enjoying Full Auto right now also. Awesome graphics an explosions. @_@

im not junking up a thread dumba**! all i was saying is the x box 360 is too exspensive and theres not much great games yet. And just because someone doesn't have an x box 360 doesn't mean they can't post an opinion.
Jonjandran maybe you shouldn't let my opinions hurt you so much...Thats what gets me about these threads. You can't say how you feel on something without someone getting their pants all wet.
Now go ahead and talk about 360 games.

I agree with jonjandran... The thread's topic is I just got a 360, not What I hate about a 360 even though I don't own one.
Now, for me to get back on subject, I rented Amped 3 and was pleasantly surprised enough to buy it (used on Ebay).
I've played a couple different snowboarding games in the past, but Amped 3's story line, cut-scenes, and art style are quirky enough to make me want to play more.
Some of the cut scenes are mixtures of old Saturday morning cartoons, Anime, and claymation (like Gumby). Very original for a "sports" game.

Nobody's saying you can't have an opinion. All we're saying is that maybe you should re-examine your stance based on the fact that there are a lot of solid titles in the eyes of the community and the unit isn't that expensive for the technology it contains.
Part of having an opinion is facing criticism. If you voice your opinon you have to face the thoughts of those with different opinions. When the two sides meet you have a discussion.
Now all that aside your opinion isn't actually relative to the subject being discussed in this thread. It's a thread about what's worth buying on the 360, not is the 360 worth buying.
Ricther has already laid down the money for one and now he wants to know what to buy, that's all.

I don't own a 360 yet, but my reccomendations are:
Amped 3
Burnout: Revenge
Need For Speed: Most Wanted
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
However, if you already played another version of one of the latter 3, Don't bother with the 360 version of it.

Thats fine! I understand what you all are saying.
I myself believe the 360 has nothing to offer to me at this point in time. I don't like shooters, sports games, or war games. And thats what the new current systems seem to have the most of. Thats probably why im such a nintendo/atari fan. Im an old school gamer. I own the first xbox but only paid $50 for it. I own only 3 games: ninja gaiden black, house of the dead 3 and gauntlet seven sorrows. Every time i look to buy new games for it...There's nothing that i like. Every game i see is either gangster related, a shooter or sports. Not my type of games.
Well i think you heard all you want to hear of me. So i'll leave with my own opinions.

About Full Auto.......I've played the OXM demo a few times and was wondering about the full game. Is it like the numerous vehicular destruction games that appeared on the N64 and PSX systems? Some of those were good fun. Is the AI "cheap" or not? You know the deal......last lap, last corner, you're in the lead and a rocket comes out of nowhere....over and over again? Or is it a pretty fair AI?
I ask the question because I can only find it for purchase in my area.
Amped 3? I've met more than one local gamer who was extremely surprised by the fun factor of this game.

It depends on what you plan on doing with the system primarily. If you want to play online, get PDZ and PGR3. If single player, I personally like Quake 4 and Call of Duty 2. PGR3 isn't bad in single player, but it's so damn easy when you recently played GT4.

If we look at all of the recommendations, I think the sum total would include at least one vote for all Xbox 360 games available! LOL
Anyhoo, my *must haves* are...
Call of Duty 2--Completely, totally, in-your-face non-stop action. My Game of the Year if they could just fix the danm online!
Ghost Recon--Awesome. It feels a tad rough around the edges, but it is engrossing, and the multiplayer is top notch. Spawn killing in multiplayer is a bit ridiculous though, since you spawn in one of three or four places, a good team can dominate a lesser one easily.
Amped 3--Bought it for cheap, and fell in love. A total blast, and most under-rated launch game. Simply fun to play, and the environments are huge!
Don't forget live arcade...
Geometry Wars--So addictive, I play it at least once every time I sit down with my 360. Quick and intense action.
Gauntlet--Old school, multi-player awesomeness. Coolest part, I can play online with some of the same guys I used to play this game at the arcade with growing up... only they are thousands of miles away! Talk about Retro-Revival!
Here's hoping for them to bring in some more Live Arcade titles. My vote goes to Super Dodgeball--online! How sweet would that be!?? @_@
