RoboCop vs. The Terminator

I picked up the SNES version today at a Game Crazy after being urged to do so. It's funny, on Monday I dropped by GC and saw the game for the 1st time ever. I merely disregarded it because SNES RoboCop 3 and T2 have such POOR reputations I figured RvT must be further trash. Going home and checking out some reviews/pictures of RvT... the consensus was it was actually pretty good!

I agree... it's a pretty decent little platform blaster. Now people are telling me the GEN version is different and EVEN BETTER. That definitely sounds awesome... I think when cross-platform games are different, I just think that's the best. It shows a company's unlaziness I guess is one way of putting it. Aladdin comes to mind. King of the Monsters 2, etc. I'm sure if we wanted, we could have a huge list of different cross platform games.

The Genesis version is one of my all-time favourite games. Despite having completed it several times over, it is one that I always enjoyed going back to for a quick bash.

It's just incredibly slick, really smooth gameplay, perfect selection of power ups. The graphics and atmosphere are superb, the enemies and level design similarly excellent. Secret passages and levels to discover, and non-stop action throughout, simple controls. Just a pleasure to play in every way!

And not a walkover either, by any means .. but so damn good to play that I ended up getting it worked down to perfection pretty much :)

I remember it from years ago but haven't played it since. My friend owned it and we had great fun going through it. It was pretty tough but great fun and a game I definitely want to pick up again.

The Genesis is version is definitely better(less clunky feeling) than the SNES one although they are different games. The SNES one has better interaction with background objects though.

I actually think the SMS one is the best overall. It's very similar to the Genesis game. It has a lot more slowdown and lesser graphics but it's more fun to play. Plus the soundtrack is catchier and reminiscent of classic C64 games.

There's also a prototype RvT for the NES although judging from the rom it's not very good.

Oh yes!!! Love that game. Its one of the few genesis games i own. The genesis version is bloody and loads of fun. And it gets very hard at the end. But you want to keep on playing because its so damn cool!!!
