I was at meijer last night and noticed quite a few of the blue DS systems for sale with a sticker on them that said they include the nintendogs best friends edition. I'm wondering if maybe Nintendo is doing that because some of the silver DS's have always had a pack-in and they felt it was unfair to those who liked blue.
In any case I'm probably gonna get one.

Why do that when DS Lite is so close?

Listen to this logic.

I didn't say I would keep it. I would probably buy it, take the game out of it and remove the sticker, and then return it. Places like Meijer and Wal-Mart have super-flexible return policies that can make you a winner if you play them correctly.
I know this makes me a terrible person, but it's better than paying ebay prices.

It may be a lot farther away than you think. Nintendo needs to worry about getting units on the shelf in Japan before they can even think to supply NA with those things. I wouldn't bet on it being here before E3, and it may even be the "hot item" this christmas.

I remember those crazy days when they called that 'stealing'. Those were, indeed, crazy times.

For the record, the bundle rings up at $149.99. It has a different UPC sticker over the original UPC code. On the receipt it doesn't denote that it's any sort of special bundle. Another thing I found interesting is that the guy in the electronics department that sold it to me didn't record the serial number in the system at all. Anyways, I had no difficulty whatsoever peeling the little clear circle back on one end to open it and get the game, and also no difficulty getting the sticker off that said the game was included. It left no residue, yay!
Now, we'll see tomorrow if they'll take it back.

You explain that as though it were supposed to be justification for taking a game out of a box advertising a game is included.
"It's okay that I took out a video game included with the system, because he didn't scan the serial number, and the sticker doesn't leave residue."

I didn't say it was justified.
In fact, I said earlier that I was a BAD person for doing it.
I also didn't say, "HEY ALL OF YOU SHOULD DO THIS TOO!"
I was just noting there's a new bundle, and then responding to people who told me i should hold out for the lite.
And the box itself doesn't advertise that the game's included. The sticker does. The one that's not on the box anymore does.
So in conclusion, DONT DO THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE A BAD PERSON LIKE ME.

Meh. You chose your moments, Everyone takes advantage every now and again. Would you deny that you've ever done a similar thing?

I've never bought a game, and copied it, and taken it back. Or bought a console, taken something from it, and taken it back. Infact, I'd be hard pushed to say I've ever taken anything back (I returned Max Payne 2 to Amazon and asked for another copy because the one I received was scratched very badly).
Don't get me wrong, there is that temptation. But I haven't given in as far as I can remember.

Back on topic please.
This bundle is going to severely cripple the commanding eBay price of this cart which is around $50 for the "Best Friends" Version of the game.
