Well guys. I have listed it on eBay. Here's the link.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8275927248
I have decided to trade / sell my 10 Million Model PS1. It is in real nice condition. I have taken more pictures and they will be added later.
I got the PS1 from a lady who won it from a local Television show when they were put out. There were only 100 of these made for each region worldwide. The regions were The USA, Japan, European (PAL). They were apparantely only given out to top Sony executives and as prizes in some contests.
This is a true collectors piece. I have contacted a couple of people who actually have one. They say that mine is a little unusal as mine has 2 controllers. The package consists of the following
PS1 10 million model (PAL) Midnight Blue Silky Texture
2 Controllers Midnight Blue Silky Texture
All the cables
All the related paperwork (No box)
This might be your one and only chance to secure one of these for your PS1 collection. They are not very common as stated before.
# Please note that i have listed this on 3 other Forums.
I am looking for PSP games/2G Sandisk Mem sticks, NDS games, Nintendo Game and Watches, PS1 RPG's, PS2 Rpg's. DC Games. Anything else that might be interesting. All games must be new and sealed. If not then they must be in mint condition.
If you would like to buy it, please make me an offer through PM's. Or email me axekiller@gmail.com
The last one to sell on eBay went for $630US. It did not have the paperwork and only had one controller. http://cgi.ebay.com/10-Million-Model-PlayStation-System-Midnight-Blue_W0QQitemZ8264076506QQcategoryZ62054QQssPageNa meZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Bump for total Topic change. 10 Million Model PS1 added. Other items removed. I would have made another Topic with this but i did not want one to get locked. My apologies to the mods if this is out of order.

:( do they originally come with box and instructions?
The many Ebay lots I see are all incomplete and I'm wondering if it's a nasty trend or just something that's original.

i know the ntsc version comes with a box.... so i would assume the other two versions do as well.

You say you have all paperwork. Does it have the letters from Sony.

I was unaware that they came with a letter from Sony. Can anyone else confirm this? If so, i will edit the auction details.

They should 'In Theory' have come with a letter from Sony addressed to the intial winner of that 10 Mil unit, seeing as they were exclusive contest (of some sort) give aways. I can confirm without a doubt that the American ones initally came with a letter (BuyAtari's US 10 Million unit has a letter) and would think that SCEE and SCEJ would have been just as easily able to make a simple letter on Sony letterhead and sent it out like SCEA did.

Hmm.. There is no letter with it. The lady i got it from said that there was a letter to confirm her prize. She tossed it though and waited for the PS1 to show up. The PS1 package that i have advertised does have all the paperwork that *it* came with though. Thanks for that bit of info.

Why is the reserve price private? IMO it would only scare away bidders??

Not sure what you were looking to get. $325 is a little low but I don't expect a PAL system would get much more. Save it for 10 cent listing day. It might go for a $500 BIN.

I never tell people the reserves on any auction i list. I can't see why they would ask. It is an *auction* and not a fleamarket. I think that i will just hold onto it now. The longer i have it the more it should appreciate in value (Hoping).

I never saw the point of reserves. If you won't take less than say $1500.00 then why not just say so? Or you could list it for $5,000.00 and take best offers. Most auctions that have reserves don't get as much as they would without them. Bidders always feel "Whats the point of bidding if the reserve is not met."
You are right, it should go up a bit over time (over $325 at least) but you never know. If anything these systems without a box are selling for less and less each time I see one. I think most collectors who are willing to spend the big bucks will hold out for NTSC, a boxed one or both so I can't see it going up a tremendous ammount.

what?! so one can sell an item costing $100 to acquire in the first place at 1 cent and loosing out $99.99??? :p
of coz if eBay doesn't charge extraordinary amount for the high starting bid price there won't be any need for the reserve...

I don't think there is much difference in fees with listing at 0.01 with a $500 reserve and just listing at $500.

Man ebay hides the fees on the website. I didn't think I'd ever find it.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html
ok lets say you want $499.99
list at $499.99 = $3.60
or
list at 0.01 with $499.99 reserve = $0.20 + $5.00 = $5.20
lets say you want $1,000.00
list at $1,000.00 = $4.80
or list at 0.01 with $1,000.00 reserve = $0.20 + $10.00 =$10.20
I don't see where its ever cheaper to list with a reserve.

and multiply that with the number of auctions...
you will see how quickly that small difference will add up

ohh man this might turn out to be a long thread.....
If one auction is cheaper without a reserve then TEN auctions would be cheaper without a reserve.

Of course, you only pay the reserve fee if the item doesn't sell though.
If it does sell, it only costs you the $0.20 for a $0.01 start price (plus your final value fee, but you'll pay that either way).

Put it this way as well. If i did not put a reserve on it and it sold for 20GBP then i would feel like shit. The reserve was put in place to safeguard that. I also purposfully set it high to see what sort of interest there was. It cost me approx 10GBP to list the PS1. Quite a costly little exercise.
I thank you for your input guys. I may just relist it on a 10c eBay list day. Put a BuyNow of 500 on it. See what happens.

If you re-read what I have said I never said start the listing at 20gbp.
Start it at the least (the same ammount as your would be reserve) you would be willing to sell it for and the fees will be less than listing with a reserve at the same ammount. People will have 7 days to think over the price and there may even be a bidding war at the end.
But yeah if you can afford to sit on it for a bit, the 10 cent listing is the way to go. Do they have 10 cent days in every country?

This is true. However, if the item sells for big bucks who cares. It only hurts when you don't sell it. So I think in the long run in most cases the reserve way is not the way to go.

The 20GBP statement was hypothetical and not aimed at your earlier statements ;)
I have seen the 10cent days. I am not sure if they have them in the UK though. I hope they do. I wonder if it would be better to list the item in the USA or UK.
