Ah Oregon, Califronia's Canada. Good for you lad.

It's sad that this is even being suggested as it is a BLATANT violation of your First Ammendment. Can't wait to hear what Jacky Boy has to say about it on GP.

Just another no-name politician looking for attention. It'll never pass, and even if it does, it'll be quickly overturned.

Agreed.

LOL

Anyways, Iron Dragoon nailed it. But still, it pisses me off to hear about another attack on video games by a politician (especially an ignorant one like we have here) trying to play moral policeman.

OH, HELL NO!!! And, go figure, it's another god damn Democrat. WTF has gotten into the Democratic party, wanting to ban everything under the sun? Oh well.. Here's why the bill won't pass.

1. Tennessee already has a bad enough economy. Banning 'Violent' video games would put many people out of buisness. Video game retailers, movie rental stores, etc..

2. Tennessee already has a shitty rep, in my book. This would solidify the fact that Tennessee has no culture or humanity to speak of. A good portion of TN. gamers wont fight this because most are not of legal voting age. I can vote however, and if this son-of-a-bitch is in my district, he's not gonna have a job, come november.

3. The supreme courts would overturn it in a heartbeat.

Sorry, but this ain't gonna happen. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit here and let it. Looks like Jack Thompson is no longer number 1 on my 'fuck off and die' list.

Where do people get the motivation to do this?

I'm gonna print out copies of the article and a copy of the bill, and take a ton of them to game stores around town. I advise all other gamers in TN. to do the same. No matter what your age. You all may not be able to vote, but you can still influence people.

And tell them to hand the article to gamers who can vote and write this guy and write his local senators.

Unfortunately, this asshole resides in Knoxville, and I'm in Nashville, so voting him out is out of the question. But my senator will be hearing from me soon. Basically, I'll say, support this bill, and you'll lose alot of votes come november.

People like this who want to go around banning everything should not be in power. This is America. Not the Soviet Union. I can understand stiffer penalties for selling them to minors, but telling a 31 year old what he can and cannot buy just won't fly.

passing flyers out is a good idea.

Where do people get the motivation to do this?

So they can say "My opponent DOESN'T want to ban video games and wants your child to virtually rape underage dogs instead of going to school and being a good American citizen! Won't you think of the children? MY GOD, WON'T YOU THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!"

In other words, easy votes from ignorant people.

That, and the stereotypes you hear about Tennessee are mostly true. A bunch of brain dead hicks. Not to mention that pretty much all of the TN. politicians are 100% crooked.

I live in Nashville. So I can say all the rumors you hear about Tennessee are true.

I mean for gods sake, look at the guys picture.. He looks like one of those evangalists who are always begging you to send them money. Not to mention his outfit from 1981. Love that tie!

So how long before Jack Thompson hears about this and comes up here to join the fight?

PLACE BETS NOW! LOL

I give it 2 to 4 weeks. And there has not been one mention of the bill, here in Nashville. Not on the local (Nashville) news or anywhere else for that matter. Just Knoxville.

I also find this a little disturbing, and a little weird nothing has been mentioned.

I can't believe these politicians still try to pull the ban videogame card, it's never really worked and definitely wouldn't win them any fans (voters can be your best friend and your worst enemy). I know if this were to happen in Louisiana whoever is behind it wouldn't get my support as well as possibly many young voters, and older voters (like me) who grew up gaming.

Don't worry too much though, I doubt this passes.

All those Democratics are just stupid, how many states are trying to ban M-rated video games again?
