Alright dudes, starting Tuesday 3/14 the Blockbuster I work at (and I'm sure most others) are putting on sale lots of new PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, PSP, NDS, and GBA games at 50% off sticker price. I wish I could post the exact list, but believe me when I say it is about 500 individual games. Yikes! Nothing too new or stellar, although a few stuck out for me, like Killer 7 - $10, Mario Party 6 - $25, Metal Slug 4/5 - $20, Shadow Hearts 2 - $15 etc. Most of the games are just getting cleared out to make room for the new systems, so they are a bit old, but plenty of great titles new for cheap! Even that NCAA Football 03 new for $2.50 is tempting...

Alright! Recently, Blockbuster decided to add a bunch more titles to their half off promotion. New games include a bunch more DS games, Mortal Kombat Deception Killectors Edition, SSX in Tour, and the like. If you have a chance, swing by a Gamerush and see if there is anything new you'd like!

As always, the heads-up is greatly appreciated. I'll definitely check this out. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick up a humble copy of Killer 7...

Checked out two Blockbusters today. No price changes. Perhaps they are a bit slow. Anyone have better luck?

Later,

I totally had better luck.

Killer 7, $10
Metroid (GBA), $5
Street Fighter Anniversary Controller - Ryu (PS2), $5

I didn't expect such a lovely turn-out. The games on sale had their own separate tables, and there were big signs everywhere--so it's not exactly secret. As a result, buying was very convenient.

were the games marked with the sales price? or mark down taken at register?

I didn't notice any major sale at the 2 Blockbusters by my house.

Taken down at register. I did notice the signs said that store participation may vary.

Clearance items weren't re-priced, they were marked with a dark blue sticker next to the price. Everything rings up at normal price, then the 50% get applied at the end. If your area Blockbuster only had the cheap new games (GH/PH/PC), there won't be too much in the way of clearance. Most of the third-party accessories are included.

Of course; I didn't even think of that. But the blue sticker was only on one of the games I bought. Maybe it was on the outer case that Blockbuster keeps.

Thanks again! Dropped by two different Gamerushes and managed to pick up a SF Anniversary Controller (Akuma) and Godzilla: Save the Earth (Xbox) for a paltry $15. I may have to go back and pick up a Killer 7 (GCN) when I get paid tomorrow (I know, I know, it's sad when a $10 game has you checking your bank balance).

Thanks for the heads up GetImOliver!

Stopped in and found Guilty Gear X2, Dead to Rights II, Goldeneye and OutRun 2 Xbox games for $10 each. PS2 Psychonauts was $15 and Metal Slug 4/5 was $20. I also grabbed a Street Fighter Anniversary controller for $5 as well.
They were setting up the display table there Tuesday the 14th, but it wasn't until Thursday the 16th that they had the %50 off sign up and the blue stickers on the products.

Scored a new Logitech wireless controller for PS2 there today for $15. Gonna go back tomorrow and pick up the Xbox one they had for $17.50.

Thanks for the tip!

Plenty of titles at my local Rush, but of course, I already owned most of 'em *L*. I did pick up NBA Street 3 for twenty, soley for the fact that Mario and company were playable characters. LOL Might go back and pick up a spare Metroid NES Classic though...
