I bought this puppy so I could use an Arcade card and play imports on my Turbo-Grafx 16, but I never did find out what brand it was.

Anybody recognize it? There's no manufacturer's markings on it, front or back.

These are called purple barney (yes even though it is brown). I have the same one and the box which says WH-301 as some sort of model number. I had to cut the actual converter up to fit it in my duo :/

Don't know if there's actually a "brand". I think it is more of a Hong Kong bootleg type thing.

I have one of these boxed and the packaging is as ambiguous as the label itself.

Cool. I had heard that term before but didn't know to what it referred.

Anybody know roughly how much they're worth?

I don't know how much they're worth now but i bought one for $ 35 two years ago. Works perfectly.

Worth $30-60 generally. Not nearly as reliable as the Kisado, but usually does the trick.

I love the names of Turbo converters

- Purple Barney
- Diving Board
- Kisado
- Mirai

I sold about 15 of these a couple of years ago. All of the ones I sold were new in box. The ones that I sold typically went for $55-80. I did have one sell for over $100.

Gasp at $60-$100 for those converters, in my opinion you may as well buy a PC Engine ($40 +) or the PC Duo ($100+)
