Hey all,
I was at a pawn shop today and they had a PAL system for 75.00. It came with 17 games that would only play on that unit. Most of the titles were common, but a few I had never seen. There was one called 3 in 1 movie or something to that effect... Most of the games had a *Players* logo on the side. Is that common for PAL games and in your opininon is it worth 75.00 to pick the system up?
Thanks for any help!

The 'players' thing confuses me a bit. Just an example photo but here (http://www.webmad.co.uk/playstation.jpg) are a few Pal PS1 games and they generally all look the same on the side - uniform font on Black or Grey.

Is the "Players" logo a picture of a capital "P" with a basketball-thing in the hole of the "P"?

I would think they are copied games.

Thanks for the pics, but they don't look like that. I'm thinking I may just have to go pick it up. The owner guarantees me they are not burns. She also said I could have my money back if I was not satisfied.
The font on the spine just says Players and then the game title. Nothing that really stands out, the cases appear to be the same as other PS1 games except for that. I have been scanning eBay hoping to find something similar, but no luck yet...

Hey Layzee,
I went back and looked at the games and they DO have a basketball around the P. Any idea what that means? They look like copies, but they have the actual name of the game around the inside of the disc. Silver backs though, not black.
Any ideas...

Well, the situations could be as follows:

1. The covers are NOT original, but the games ARE original.

or

2. The covers are NOT original, and the games are burnt.

I don't really know who these "players" are, but either way, they are not proper covers.

Since I can't see the CDs, I can't say whether they are authentic or not. But if they have less that good quality CD prints (as in the pictures on the top part of the CD itself), then they're probably pirated.

You also speak of a "3 in 1" game or movie in your first post. Sounds like a pirated copy to me...

BTW, I have a couple of "Players" games myself. Didn't buy it though.
