So with Fight Night Round 3 and GRAW out, the Xbox 360 is looking tastier and tastier to me. At this point I'm going to wait until E3 to see what's what, but if PS3 doesn't blow me out of the water with real playable demos, etc. I'm thinking I will pick one up shortly after...

So when do you see yourself getting a 360?

Cheers,
Ben

heh, I guess I'm a turkey vulture to be. I'm getting an xbox for my birthday next week.

I'll get a ps3 around launch, my kids will get a revolution a year or so after launch, and I'll get a 360 when it hits $150 in a few years.

Waiting until after I get a PS3 and Rev. If the PS3 does not launch this year, which I still doubt is the case, than I may consider a 360 first.

The Rev I want to get at launch because I have always loved Nintendo's consoles, and the Rev looks like it could be a fun console for my son and I as he learns how to play videogames.

I refuse to buy an Xbox 360 until I can get the system, wireless controller and harddrive for $200-$250.

yeah... I'm thinking the $150 range is good for me, then I'll just mod it and put linux on it anyway... like I did with my xbox.

I chose the Halo 3 option but I think for some the answer would be "As soon as mod chips appear."

As soon as I find a premium for retail. I didn't have an overwhelming need for one until I had a temporary lapse of sanity and bought a $3k TV (the Sony SXRD) with my annual bonus money. Now it feels like a requirement.

The 360 will have to hit the $200 range before ill get one even though I would like to have one NOW :/

Until then there are well over 100 games I still need to get and play through for PS2 not including many classic PSone games I need to RE-acquire.

Got a core at launch and I get quite a bit of use out of it too. :) Getting a HD off play.com over the next few days, took 2 months for the order to go through but I'd rather wait and pay £65 then buy it instantly for £110 off ebay.

Incidentally, people who deny themselves Kameo just don't know what they're missing. ;)

As soon as they are readily available.

It's been about 5 months since launch and I still have yet to see a 360 sitting on a store shelf.

I'm just waiting for a game that really grabs me and my interests.

Dead Rising looks fab, and I'll probably lay down 210 quid on that day.

A. When I have money

B. When I have an HDTV

If I had both, I'd pick one up as soon as I see it.

I pre-ordered mine the day after they were first shown on MTV. I got mine March 1st. Go figure.

I am totally addicted to this machine. XBLA has gotten me back into casual gaming (i.e. arcade style games) and I must say, I'm slowly turning into an Xbox fanboy.

The game achivements idea - pure genius! It gives you more motovation to wanna play.

The 360 has surpassed the Dreamcast as my all time favorite console.

As much as I want my Xbox 360 to give me head, or even a handjob, I don't see Microsoft adding that service anytime in the near future, regardless of price...

Waiting for a price drop... and games that justify the purchase. This year's gaming purchases are already pretty much set in stone for me between classic stuff, a few random ds/cube/ps2/xbox games I want to pick up, and come fall, the Revolution.

i wouldn't mind getting one when they have some decent games for it, Oblivion is the first but i need at least 5-6 before it warrants forking that kind of cash.

Not Interested.

I was actually totally caught up in the launch hype machine, and tried my best to actually get one. Sold out everywhere, and by the beginning of January my interest was completely dead. Paying more than retail on ebay or whatever never entered my head for a second, because convincing myself to buy a $400 video game system took a while to begin with. I realized I am more than happy with my retro stuff and PS2, which has hit it's late-life high in the last year and looks to continue it for quite a while (FF12+KH2 this year, along with Cave shooters, plus way more).

Now, over two months after my interest has died, 360's are *still* sold out at every local game and electronics store. So I might pick up a PS3 eventually, and maybe a Revolution if it actually pans out like the DS did, but the 360 has lost me as a customer. If Microsoft hadn't completely screwed up the lauch quantities, I'd probably have one right now.

I'm sure there will be a system shortage just as bad (probably worse) as the 360's whenever the PS3 comes out. There is simply no way that new consoles can be manufactured fast enough to meet demand. The same thing happened during the PS2 launch and it was *at least* 6 months until I saw any systems sitting on store shelves to buy. I see no reason why the 360 and PS3 is going to be any different.

I've accepted the fact that waiting months to buy ANY new system after it has been released is going to be a common thing with future launches, no matter who puts it out.

Already have one. Picked it up a month ago, GRAW is my latest addiction, I love it. This may just be the fan boy in me, but I think this is the must have console of this coming generation. The arcade, a feature that I thought I would barely use, gets some ample attention in the form of geometry wars. For all the nay sayers all I can say is try one, you might like it.

After one or two price drops. And at least three games that I would consider the most owns are released.

You are correct, sadly. But I've already taken this into consideration for the PS3, which is probably going to cost $400+ anyway. I'm going to wait until Metal Gear Solid 4 or Final Fantasy 13 or a Super Robot Wars, or other MUST MUST MUST have game comes out (hopefully after the first price drop) to get into the PS3.

The 360's delay was more an instance of I was really hyped up about the system and wanted to buy it, but was completely unable, and now the interest just isn't there for whatever reason. So that's just how it ended up. :/

I normally take a BS retail job somewhere that will have the system in question and buy one when it comes in. Additionally, if you have friends that don't mind throwing out junk mail, you can setup a freepay.com account and have people sign up for junk mail to get you a 360. The owner of euroemu.net did that recently.

I'll hold out a bit and see what games end up comming out and price drops. I don't work at a full time job making large sums of money to go after buying expensive systems and games. I will decide on getting a 360, Rev, or PS3 around next summer if possible. Time will tell.

Not interested right now, dosen't have any software I perfer, plus it dosen't suport the Xbox games that I have for playback.

It sure looks cool though, love those controllers too. Nice hardware with a garbage software lineup.

This seems to be the new trend now IMO? What's up with that? I'll just wait to see whats comming down the pipeline :/
