I'd love to play some Game Gear games... but on my TV. I have a Master System (Well, a Powerbase Convertor), but I can't seem to find any convertors.

I can find the opposite (Master System to Game Gear)... any help?

Thanks.

Sadly, it's not technically possible in either case. If you're handy with a soldering iron, check out this SMS Power thread (http://www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2539) for the nearest thing - a mod which allows you to output RGB from a GameGear to a TV.

Are you saying it's not possible to play Master System games on a GameGear? Because it is... There is a convertor.

I think he ment Master System and PBC's not playing Game Gear games.

Oh well :(

its a color issue, while both systems are virtually the same processor wise, the GG has a bigger color pallete. i read an article where a guy made an adapter to play GG games through a Genesis and Power Base Convertor, but the colors were all screwed up

your best bet is emulation

We must raid Sega for the secrets to their never-released Game Gear-to-Genny converter!

Yup, on the Dreamcast. SMSPlus v0.2DDD will handle all your Game Gear and Master System needs and the GG games look SOOOOOOOO much better than they do on the original hardware.

Yes, Sega of America had those modified Power Base Converters that run GG games playable on the Genesis. I saw them when I attended the Summer CES in Chicago back in the early '90s.

There's some other small issues too, like the way that the GG and SMS handle the pause/start button....it's NOT the same. The CPU handles these as completely different events and GG roms, if they even boot up at all, will have messed up colors and freeze immediately, being stuck in pause. Of course, sometimes, the games just don't load at all, I hear.

The SMSpower thread I have checked daily for updates since near it's beginning. I am hoping for some better, more clear plans to show up...someone should wiki it. I built one of the unit snad fried my GG...I was pissed because I went though hell to find a 2 ASIC GG. There are no plans yet for the more common 1 asic GG.

Anyone any good at fixing GGs?

I have never heard of these modified PBCs for GG carts...all I knew about were the dev GGs modified for RGB. I'm dying to see a pic or omore inf on these modded PBCs. Anyone got anything? Did they have a different name?
