EA Sports games(GENESIS)

Within the last few weeks, I have bought several EA Sports games for the Genesis. And when I looked at two of them, NHL '94 and Madden '94, there is a little emblem or whatever you want to call it on the insert that says Limited Edition and has a few letters and a number.

My question is what does this mean, I know sports games are extraordinarily cheap (not worth a lot to collect), but is there a increase in rarity or value?

I tried searching and all I could find were a few mentions from some really dubious sources: eBay auction vendors.

I'm still not positive, but apparently, it's the first printing or "first round" of the game, thus making it more sought after.

They are more like a first run, doesn't make them worth that much more, maybe like $1.50 instead of $1.00. I believe that all of the carts are the same. Just the boxes have the limited edition logos.

The only RARE Genesis EA Sports game is "John Madden Championship Edition".
