If I have posted this thread in the wrong section, I apologize. I wasn't sure where to post this.

Anyway, I bought a Sega Genesis I and Sega CD I yesterday - but there were no cables of any kind.

I know that I will need a power adapter for the Genesis and one for the CD unit. I also know that I will need an a/v cable from the genesis to the tv (vcr, whatever..).

What I don't know, is what else do I need? Are there any other cables needed to make this combo unit work?

Also, is the power adapter for the CD unit different than the power adapter for the Genesis I?

Any hlep is appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

As long as you really shove the Genesis 1 onto the CD 1, you'll get a good connection, the Genesis will recognize it right away. RF for the Genesis and two power adapters is all you need. You can probably get away with rounding the numbers, but here's the rating

CD Unit: MK-1602
Input: 120V 60Hz 17W
Output: 9V DC 1.2A

The Sega CD power supply is different than the Genny's. You can use a power supply from a SMS for a Sega CD. That's what I use.

In addition to the A/V cables, you need a stereo 1/8" plug to 1/8" plug cable to run from the headphone out on the Genny to the mixer in on the Sega CD otherwise you will only get the sound off the CD and NOT any of the sounds being produced by the Genny. You can get this at Radio Shack.
