I see a review of this on IGN, yet I can't seem to find it in any online stores. I call my local shops and they say they don't have any for sale, but they will in the near future. Seems pretty limited to me. Anyone know what the deal is? I would have pre-ordered it along with my regular version had I known it was coming out here in the US.

If anyone has one, new or opened, I'll trade generously for it.

well I will say that since I preordered and will not get one

it's probaly gonna be really hard to get one unless going on ebay

but it sucks that eb screwed canadians over on the limited edition.

just pissed me off. anyway back on topic,

it was more of people who preordered will be able to get it.

Seems like they really screwed up with this one. I keep hearing that they didn't make enough of the Limited Editions to fill all the pre-orders. I pre-ordered the LE version THE DAY it was listed on Gamestop.com. Yesterday I checked my order status to see if it has shipped yet and it says it was now backordered. x_x

A lot of other people are saying the same thing has happened to them. Funny thing is though that people that pre-ordered only 2-3 weeks ago already have it shipped out to them.

I called Gamestop.com about my order this afternoon and they said that it'll ship out later today. Checked my status online at it says "Processing", so there is still hope for me. We'll see though.

I think it might just be similar to the explosion that occurred after the RE4 LEs. Hopefully, anyway. I'd really like to snag it sometime, but there's no way I'm gonna pay $100+ for one.

Best of luck to everyone trying to get one. I live in a pretty big city(San Diego) and I checked everywhere and finally found one. I didn't preorder.

Look at the going rate of those bad boys on ebay though why don't cha...

I was lucky enough to pick up a few copies for myself and friends(who were at work and not able to get theirs).

Whew.

I managed to snag one at the eb in my area, last one too. They are pretty hard to find the game was only out for a day and all the LEs in my area had been sold. Except for the one I got of course.

Oddly enough, I was able to walk into EB and get one. I was really worried I'd miss out, too, because I had been trying to reserve it for about a month. Then, the employee was awesome enough to throw in the Metal Gear Saga DVD as well. I lucked out.

I had no problem getting one when it was released as well. Went down to a nearby EB Games and they had 3 on the shelf. I almost bought the game where I work at best buy when it was shipped in, and then decided to read the review on IGN. I saw they had a normal and "limited" review. When I got home and was able to dig deeper into the info, I found out people were having a HARD time getting it and even some who preordered weren't getting it.

Checked it out on ebay, and it was already going anywhere from 65 - 100+ dollars. Decided to head out and see if I could find one, and luckily snagged a copy. Once I beat Shadow Hearts I'm gonna load it up. I forgot to ask them for the saga DVD though, oh well.

Fuckin' Gamestop.

I was charged $39.99 when I pre-ordered my copy of the game. I prefer to pay for the entire cost up front.

Again, I paid $39.99. So I'm getting the limited edition version, right?

Wrong.

I show up yesterday to collect, and counter jockey says "Yeah, Billy should've known better. We only got, like, two of them in. Sorry about that." The female employee who tells me this was standing RIGHT NEXT TO "BILLY "when I made my pre-order.

Sure, she refunds my $10 and change, but still. I hate that kind of crap. I have no doubt that the kid knew that the store was only getting so many copies of the LE version in and was simply trying to con me out of $10.

I hate video game stores almost as much as I hate guitar stores.

Thankfully I preordered mine a month ago, I managed to get my MGS S:LE on release day, and definitely not disappointed with it, a great 40 bucks spent.

Ebay has LE listed in auctions, but one went for 210 bucks, no way in hell I'd ever pay that steep a price on any game, I'm not made of money. LOL

It's definately insane... especially for a $40 game!

But Konami wasn't joking around this time when they said 'limited'...

This is probably the first really 'limited' game that came for the PS2!

I went to my local gamestop and they had 1 extra and I didn't reserve, I wasn't going to open it before reading this, now I am definately keeping it sealed.

Wow. I personally find it hard to believe that an outer box and bonus movie DVD are pushing the price that high, especially since the game itself is no different than a standard retail copy.

That isn't pushing it, the perceived scarcity is. Even Spikeout Battlestreet went for $100+ within a week of coming out. I pre-ordered it about a week before EB pre-orders were stopped on the LE, and had no problems picking up either Saga a few weeks back or the LE the other day. I will say that for dollar-for-dollar value, the regular edition of Subsistence is the best deal, especially since it's on sale this week at various stores.

Lots of people I know in the UK looking for the limited US version. Lots of people getting stiffed with the orders they've made to various US websites. I guess the sites just didn't get much stock. Yet.

I can't believe Gamestop of all places got shorted. It was the first chain to turn the reserve SKU for the Limited Edition OFF due to how there wouldn't be many made.

We didn't even get reserves on the limited edition since it was shut down so soon and we still got two in our store. One next to us got NINE extra in AFTER taking their five reserves into account. I think they even still have some.

That said, it's purely worth it for collectors (redundant). Don't think you're getting any cool extra content. The third disk is just Metal Gear Solid 3's cutscenes strung together into a movie (you can already unlocke the "Secret Theater" mode on MGS3 anyway though). The other thing on the disk is the MGS4 trailer that was already on the Metal Gear Saga DVD.

I live in Brandon, MB. That's in Canada in case you didn't know. I went to one of my local EBs yesterday, and actually found a LE version of this game on the shelf for 49.99 CDN!! I picked it up, of course, but am not sure if I should sell it or keep it. I think I'll just keep it, looks pretty sweet. Bonus side-note is that I met a girl that works there, who is cute, loves games (especially super NES RPGs!), and is single. I'm going back tomorrow to ask her out. :)

All I know is that this is crazy. But I guess thats what Metal Gear leads too. I still can't believe its going for that much on ebay.

I just picked up a copy of the LE in store at an EB complete with the Saga Disc.

Fuck Gamestop, delays are bad business.

I walked into one of my local gamestops on release day, they got 4 extra copies of the LE and even had extra Saga discs

Since we're already talking about Subsistence i'd just like to add.

METAL GEAR RAIDEN: Snake Eraser is the greatest thing ever.

I had no problems pre-ordering a copy from Gamecrazy a week before the game came out. I still can't believe what they are going for on ebay right now, 100 bucks and up.

I fully agree and I add both Metal Gear Sigint and the one where the Boss turns out to be the Director of the CIA. Man, those two made me crack up out loud.

I also bought the LE and love it, yet the 3rd disc is a little...meh for me. It's very nicely done, but they left a few scenes out from the beginning of the game and sometimes the narrator gave aaway plot points before the cinema happens. A part of me feels like I can just record the whole entire Demo Theater and have it just (ok..ALMOST) as nicely put together as the 3rd disc. Anyhow though, I love the whole package :)

Oh yes Metal Gear Sigint is classic. I especially liked the part where he was promoted to the rank of Big Boss. Might as well add The End's Eva stalking video to the list of greatness as well.

As for the MGS Movie i found the new narator really annoying. Aside from the fact that he's some what unneeded, Major Tom would've been a much better choice.
