If you are low on money, why not buy a used 2600? It'll work just as good and you have some spare money to buy more games?

Are you buying it as a collector's piece or as something to play with?
For a collector's piece, it *might* be worth that. It's an Atari 2600 Jr. which is probably the least collectable of any unit. It looks to be in perfect condition, which is why I say if you're looking to put it on a shelf, it seems high but not too high.
If you're just wanting one to play games on ... no way. I bought a boxed 2600 (but the box was in much worse condition, granted!) and 10 games for $20 from our forums here. I still see them at garage sales from time to time for $5-$10, depending on the amount of stuff bundled with them. If you're looking for a "play" system you could do much, much cheaper.

Agreed - you should be able to pick up a used 2600 with all the controllers and like 25-30 games for about $60-$70.
Now you've saved $80 for school supplies and you've got 25 games or so as a bonus. Win/win. :)

Sometimes NOS electronics aren't especially reliable...you might actually be better off with a system that has seen some action.
Does anyone else find that pack-in controller unusual (7800 joypad)? Is that something the seller is throwing in or did it come with that set (which would surprise me greatly)?
EDIT: looking again, the controller is pictured on the box. I've never seen a 2600 packaged with that controller before.

130 for a new 2600 Jr is highway robbery plain and simple. I can see 130 for a new Heavy Sixer and maybe a pristine newer 6 switch but for a Jr? No way in hell. Save your money. walk away now. LOL

It's the Euro-version. Pretty common -- IIRC, the Euro version *only* had those joypad controllers, never the standard US sticks. :)
