I don't know if you guys are familiar with Illusion of Gaia on the SNES -- it was one of my favorite RPGs (and still is) of all time. Well, when I was 14 (1994) I got that game for my birthday. When it was first released, it was packaged with a t-shirt for a limited time -- I think it was only the first couple months.

Well, I've been keeping my out for this thing for probably 1-2 years now, and I just found one sealed in the original packaging, shirt and all:

Link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8268747466&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)

What do you guys think it's worth? I just bought it for the BIN price, but I think it was partially due to the sentimemtal attachment. In my eyes, I think it was worth it, simply because this is the ORIGINAL Nintendo release packaging, and I got it as a gift so long ago.

(copied from a post in the replicant thread, you may want to change the title of that one to something like "Please lock")

Yeah, we're familiar with it...

Official Classic RPG Thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82154)

I've seen the shirt loose from time to time on eBay for just a few dollars and actually the whole smash boxed for as low as $20. Not trying to harsh on your post or anything. :)

You may also want to truncate your link as it makes your thread unreadable for the most part. Hover your mouse pointer over the URL button when making (or editing your original) a post and type out the second option.

In other words, left bracket, URL=, the entire URL, right bracket, the text link (like I have above) you'd like it to display, left bracket, foreslash, URL, right bracket. :)

Still, sealed that doesn't come up all that often anymore and it's value isn't what it's worth other than to yourself, and as you said it's priceless.

We all have those priceless things in our collection that ascend street value, it's what makes them all unique. :D

Really? What do you think it's worth?

This thing is actually pretty rare -- sure, you can find the game by itself (even boxed) or the shirt, but you can't find this original set -- the limited shirt/game combo that was only available for a limited time when the game released. On top of that, it's never been opened. Like I said, I've had my eyes open for over a year and have never seen it like this. The last time I saw this package was 12 years ago.

Iv'e seen the shirt alone call that much. I don't remember seeing this complete for less than 45 let alone sealed should command something upward more with the way SNES RPG Value maintains.

Heh, I never realized there was a shirt for this game. That's pretty interesting. Nice find!

Son of a bitch.

I knew I should have bought that sealed copy of this with the t-shirt for $10 when my local K-Mart closed.

I also should have bought one of the cases of Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers 2 for the NES they had for $5 per copy.

Why couldn't I have known better when I was 12.

LOL And I thought I was the only one kicking myself for not buying out the electronics inventory when all those KMarts were closing down. I mean I was around that age myself and bought a couple games (StarTropics II and Yoshi) but they were like $3 and some change each during the final markdown.

I bought that set new at Sears back in the day. This was back when the video game section was in the kid's department.

Thats all that matters. Congrats on your find! It may not be the rarest game out there but if you're happy with the purchase then what more can you ask? 8-)
