Where did you get this N64 S-video cable? Given the lo-resolution of the N64 does it really make any difference in the Picture?

ask anthony, he'll say yes before telling you RGB is even better. I'm not sure that resolution is a determining factor for you though or that its a given that the n64 has such resolution. The plug is only special in it does XBOX, playstation, and NINTENDO 64, SNES, AND GAMECUBE s-video AND composite. have it. I know lots of people here who use s-video in the US because its the best you get without hacking RGB mods and plugs for special monitors. And if your asking my personal opinion I play SNES on my flatscreen also and the difference is night and day with s-video, I wouldn't use composite for the n64 either. S-video is recommended for n64 and SNES on newer tvs that have it.

There is one step better than S-video [that does not require hacks/mods/special monitors.] COMPONENT. It's available on HDTVs and consists of 3 phono plugs (instead of 1), and is easy to hook up.

I have S-video on my PS1 and I don't see any different between Composite and S video-- unless I put my face to the screen.


By the way. You didn't answer my question #1 "Where did you get that N64 s-video cable?":

There IS NO COMPONENT or mod for N64 and the SNES,
two of the systems for which the cable set here is compatible with,
where the only thing better than s-video would be an RGB mod.
Also there's two steps better then s-video, RGB being the highest, nevermind

Lets not do dialectics. stress over an argument about cables here? Its hard to tell when someone's serious and I just didn't want a full page of postings about cables and such, keep it to a minimum you know. If I did talk that way in person you'd know it was a joke. And If you were interested you'd be getting a sweet deal and my feedback thread here has only great responses. Anyway TWO can joke and be jovial. Thats just my humour.

But you did click reply early and take a while waiting to click post while I decided to edit that part right away after posting like ten minutes back, also I'm just going to remove the post altogether since you've changed your post and haven't sent a pm. I've noticed you post a lot in this forum, but I've never stopped up one of your topics before. I still remember quite a few and read some today without doing so.

Its no biggie, I meant no offence. This thread isn't meant as a AV discussion and it would be appreciated it if we'd stay on topic here. Though I imagine you'd make mod in this forum if you'd manage too ;)
