Hey all ... I did some poking around today and figured out why the front page was loading so slowly. Made a change, and it's super speedy now!

You guys may not see all the things we do behind the scenes all the time, but rest assured the DP staff are working around the clock to improve your DP experience!*

(*Not really. But we did fix this one thing. :) )

As always, thanks for all the hard work that you guys put into DP. Without it we wouldn't have our home away from home.

Cool...I thought it was just me (experiencing the long loading times that is).

What was the problem?
It was getting hung up on the GameSpot RSS feed. I tried it from here and I got hung up there as well so something's weird with their feed. I removed the call to it and it's flying now. The hard part was figuring out what part it was at I had to remove each piece of the front page one at a time to narrow it down.

Edit: Flack, what does your license plate frame say? "Will work for" ____?

Yeah. My wife got it for me with some other Christmas presents she ordered me from thinkgeek.com. Good woman, she is. Unfortunately becuase of my bumper it's kind of hard to read. If I end up getting a personalized tag for the front, I'll move it up there.

Yeah. One of the collections got linked on the web and the link is making the rounds. It is what it is. Hopefully the hammering will stop soon and it'll go back to normal next month.
