View Full Version : What's The Last Game You Were Sorry You Bought?

Is there a game you've gotten within the last few months or so that you quickly decided was a dog and you were sorry you ever bought it?

For me, it's EA's college version of MVP Baseball. I don't so much mind the whole college thing and the fact the players have no names but that they changed the controls completely and I just can't seem to adapt and playing the game has become a pain. I've already gone back to playing MVP Baseball 2005 and perhaps that's the game I'll play this year unless a new MLB game dazzles me...

Its not within the time line but it was the last game that I really wanted to buy, Raw 2 for the XBOX. I love wrestling games so I always look forward to new ones and after hearing about it I had to get it. It was the last game that I preordered and I hated it. I only kept it for about a week before trading it in. Apart from that there hasn't been too many that I have bought that I have hated. I mostly just rent them anyway.

For me....and I know some people might hate me for this, but for me it was Shining Tears.
It got ok/decent reviews all over, and most people I have talked to have really liked it.
But, It just wasn't a game for me, there was something about it....too much repetitive hack and slash for me, but that's ironic....because i love Dynasty Warriors games!

Perfect Dark Zero. It wasn't so perfect.

Advance Guardian Heroes or Fable. I can't remember which one I bought first, but they were bought within three days of each other last year.

AGH made me hate Gunstar Heroes (somehow!!) and Fable was a boring, more intelligent version of the newer Gaunlet games (which isn't saying all that much). As a happy ending to this story, I vowed never to play them again and imported the Saturn D&D Collection the following month.

Can't think of one. Not bragging...I just can't. Of course, I don't regret buying Breakdown (half a year ago), either... LOL

I'm tempted to say it's PDZ but honestly i really like the art work on the LE case so i guess the last major disappointment i had was Polarium.

Not in the past couple months... but the last game I bought and should not have has to be Smart Bomb for the PSP. Yes, I know, I know. Why did I buy it?

That is a great question. It is total garbage and utter frustration, all on one disc!

Darkstalkers for the PSP. Man, was that a poor choice for a launch title - both of my end, and Capcom's.

Mine is Megaman X8. Damn that game was a stinker. Even worse than X7. I got to the final level, but it's too hard. The gameplay is really screwed up. Just the story is just another repition of other stories from X games. In fact...I had no Freaking clue what the story was...

Perfect Dark Zero, NBA Live 06 (360), Dead or Alive 4

All terrible. Just plain terrible. There is no justification for how terrible these games are.

Killer 7. I kept hearing great things about it, bought it, and thought it was complete trash. But, I'm keeping it because I'd rather still have it then get like 7 bucks at whatever rip-off game store for trade in.

Star Wars for the 32X. I wanted it for the collection, and was really looking forwardto playing it. Too bad it isn't all that great.

This one surprises me. Most people (myself included) consider I.Q. to be a really great game. If you still have it, you can probably get a good price for it.

I can't say any of my recent purchases have been bad. The last game I can really think of being very upset about was Xenosaga, and I got that in 2003.

I don't remember how far I got into Xenosaga. I remember getting annoyed at the lack of gameplay, and then shutting it off for good once I met a character called Little Master.

Fight night round 3. My dad bought it expecting it would look like the 360 version...:(

Test Drive 4 (PSX) - Ugh, horrible controls. Talk about a waste of three bucks. On the plus side, it made me rethink my habit of buying almost every cheap racer I saw. ("Sure, this Genesis F1 racer is only 50 cents, but how often am I going to play it, and am I even going to like it? Might as well put that 50 cents towards something better.")

Chaos Field (Gamecube) - Not awful, but I'm pretty disappointed that it's not much more than boss battles again and again. Not my thing. I played it a few times, then eventually put Ikaruga back in my Gamecube and never went back. I have it up for sale, click the link in my sig if you're interested

It's so bad, I started a post about it earlier this week.

The Outfit blows...

I even finally tried the multiplayer.... -_- BORING!!

Doom 3 on xbox. I wanted a fun, simple, good looking fps. The monsters constantly spawning behind you was incredibly annoying. It didn't look nearly as good as I had expected. And finally, the constant shooting in the dark and getting hit by enemies you can't see ticked me off. I traded it in to EB.

dungeons and dragons: heroes.

what a boring turd that was. take the monotony of diablo, add the excitement of watching grass grow, add the graphics of ever budget title ever, and voila! heroes!

before that, it was Hybrid Heaven for n64 (back when it came out). this is basically when i stopped buying new games to play before i played them elsewhere. this is also what led me on to my path of extreme piracy.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Playing that game was a bit like listening to "Hollaback Girl" played backwards in all the world's languages while an autistic parakeet repeatedly squawked in my other, working ear.

Maximum Chase for Xbox. As far as the storyline, graphics, audio and controls go, It's OK. But it's WAY too difficult.

Cost $5.40, Going to sell it for $6.

Need for Speed: Underground 2 on the DS. It was NOT what I expected. It feels like they tried to over use the DS's power. The controls are sluggish and hit detections is abysmal. It the ONLY game I've ever been sorry about buying.

Later,
Chrome...

Not being a wise-ass here, but I regret buying "Gun" for PS2. I loved "Red Dead Revolver," and the idea of a free-roaming Western game appeals to me to no end. I dunno, I like the look and the voice acting and the story and all, and yet there was still something missing. I can't put my finger on why this game bored me, but I quit playing after about an hour. It just didn't "click."

While I'm sure theres been more recent purchases, the last game I remember being sooo sorry that I bought would be Armorines for N64. It looked really good and being into Starship Troopers (the movie) at the time, I went ahead and bought it. That game had potential but man was it bad. Paid $80 for it and exchanged it the next day, thank god.
