Halo Graphic Novel has been announced by the Bungie team and my first thought was...why bother with a dam novel? I would much rather the team focus on making Halo 3, putting more maps on Halo 2 for Xbox live, or even making Halo with Xbox live! I play Halo 2 a ton, although I dont think it is the second coming of God. To me it just appears to be a big waste of time and money when the gaming public wants is more game and game content. Any other opinions?

They should hold this back until the release of PlayStation 3. They could really screw Sony over! Hah.

Will it be as mediocre as the games?

Sad thing is, it'll probably be a best-seller.

Christ, people, you act as though Bungie and Marvel putting together a graphic novel is taking time away from their programmers to work on their games.

Look at some of the people they have working on the stories for this shit. From their website:

Andrew Robinson
Ed Lee
Jay Faerber
Lee Hammock
Jean "Moebius" Giraud
Phil Hale
Simon Bisley
Tsutomo Nihei

As well as gallery pieces by a shitload of other artists.

If you don't like Halo, then why post in a thread to shit all over a graphic novel being made for the game? Particularly one that looks fucking sweet from the snippets that have been released on Bungie's site?

Bungie's already said they feel that the what, 9 maps they've put out on Live for 2 is enough, and that they want to concentrate on their next game. They've also said that they aren't going back to make Halo for live, since it would require a complete rewrite of the network code and would only be played by the hardcore guys anyway.

Let em do their thing, says I.

This is how I look at it. A year and half after Halo 2 is launched and we get a dam novel from them? I expect more from Bungie, who seems to be about as arrogant and stuck on themselves as ever. Sure the novel may have some talent in it, but for me, I DONT GIVE A SHIT. Bungie would do alot better if they invested their storytelling into a video game and not leave their true fan base high and dry as they did with the story in Halo 2.

Wha-huh?

As far as I know, this isn't "capping" halo 2, it's a series of side stories, like Johnson's escape from the Flood infested lab from the first game, and shit like that.

You act like they've got SOOO many staffers that they can churn out a game in no time flat. News flash-they're a development team of a larger company. Up until last Summer they hadn't been doing much new because the majority of their programmers were working on updates for Halo 2, and the new maps for Halo 2(something you didn't mind bringing up). They can't do that many projects at once. They've said that they've been working on a new project since they finished the Halo 2 stuff, but they haven't said what this project is. Remember how it took 3 years between Halo and Halo 2? This shit doesn't get made overnight.

Stuff like this graphic novel and the upcoming 4th book is called marketing. Halo has a fanbase that likes this stuff, this extending the universe of Halo. It'll turn them a profit on top of that. Why the hell wouldn't they be doing this?

My reaction to the topic, after reading most of the first post, was "Oh, Bungie's making a visual novel program?"

Uh...no, Bungie's programmers are certainly working on something else. LOL

swlovinst, give it a rest already. At most they've just got some artists working part-time with the Marvel folks.

I think there is already 3 books out in the Halo series already, because someone recommended them to me... Not that I would read that rubbish.

I do like graphic novels, but the art style I've seen so far in the halo stuff doesn't seem very interesting.
