View Full Version : Are there other offline game databases like the Genesis one?

The "Genesis Collective Offline database" is a real great thing. Yeah, yeah, I know - an online database is more up to date, but an offline one has it's advantages too.
Are there any similar databases for e.g. NES, SNES, TG16 or perhaps for other retro systems?
...I'm not really into collecting, so it wouldn't have to be editable - just something I can have on my laptop and have access to always?
I've already spent a few hours searching the forum about this but haven't found any answers to it. So if the info is there, I'm sorry - I just can't find it. :)
Thanks.

You might find the old PDF "lite" lists handy.

Thanks, however, it's not quite what I was looking for.
What I like about the Genesis database, is that there's both titlescreens & ingame screenshots as well as a small description of the games.
Much more handy than just a straight list. :)

Of course, the DP file is actually available for download. ;)

Heh, I suppose you're not being completely serious here. LOL
...but look at it this way; The Genesis database IS available for download, and even a super-massive database as IMDB is available in an offline version, so I don't think it was such an unthinkable idea. :)

The zip file for the database is a dead link. Which lead to my post.

Uhm, do you actually mean that some part of DP is normally (or have been) available for download?
Not that I was interrested in downloading the entire thing, 'cause what I was after was something simple, like the Genesis base, and not too bloated by having more info than I was after. That said, if I could download it, I would - perhaps it would be handy anyway.
Oh, and I have the two books on order with Amazon btw - I ordered them in January but haven't gotten them yet - they just extended the "estimated delivery" time by a couple of months because it's still not in stock...or something. :(
