Found this strange GB cheat cart today that I've never seen before and I'm curious if they are hard to find. It's called "Dog Trainer" and it appears to be a cheat cartridge that unlocks everything in the Nintendogs games and gives you unlimited cash. Made by Datel (unlicensed, of course). Plugs into the GBA slot on the DS and there is a slot on that where you insert the DS card into. Also has some saves on it that unlocks everything in Mario 64DS. I normally don't pick stuff like this up, but it came free with a Nintendogs Best Friends edition that I picked up in a pawn.
Are these carts pretty common? I kinda collect DS and GBA stuff and I've never seen one before. Can't find much info about it online about it either and I only see 1 listed in the completed auctions on Ebay too. Has anyone else seen these?

They are very common over here (UK) and you seem them in most game shops. I never knew that the DS game plugs into it though, or that it had Mario64 saves

I keep thinking I should buy this for my collection. Is it a standard GBA box?

Yes and no. It's same size of a standard GBA box, but doesn't have the GBA logo anywhere on it. Here's a scan of it:

The Mario 64DS saves are kind of like a bonus I guess. There is no mention of them on the box anywhere, but it lists them in the back of the Dog Trainer manual.

Best Buy had them back in December but very limited quantities. The stores I saw them in had no more then four and they were completely gone after a couple of weeks.
One thing that I will have to remember to add to the ORG listing is that it was not shrink-wrapped but in a blister package instead.

One of my local BBs actually came up with another one just a couple weeks ago. I don't know if it was lost behind other stuff, or a new appearance, but just letting you know of one sighted AFTER Christmas...

being from datel, it's ridiculously common in the UK.
but in the US it's not as common. i believe the only places that carried them were some online stores and best buy.
as someone else said, they started it during christmas, and they sold out quickly. probably because of nintendogs hype back then. but recently, i've seen all the best buys near me get them back in stock (and a lot of them too... like 7-10 per store) and barely move.
i picked one up a couple weeks ago for $5 after reward zone coupons and haven't done anything with it yet. i just got it for collection purposes. i initially didn't want anything to do with it, but for $5 for my collection... why not?
that said, i think it is a cool little collectible if you're into the DS collecting thing. but nobody else should really care about it, and i wouldn't expect to sell it for a small fortune ever. it's not really rare because of the whole international market, nor is it really that impressive.

Thanks for the scans, norkusa.

I'd agree, if it was in a DS box. It doesn't even look like a good GBA box. Tacky is the word that springs to mind.
I really have to stop buying crap I don't want :)
