Anyone know anything new about this? This is my most antcipated DS title for E3 this year. I really want it. WiFi mode will be great, and I look forward to starting a DP league if the option ever exists.

Here is some info:

And some screenshots:

Any NEW news?

I've got nothing new to contribute, I'm afraid, but I'm very excited about this, too. There are a number of games Nintendo announced (like a new Wario Land) which we know very little about. With so many great games out/coming out, it is hard to remember games like this sometimes.

I would imagine E3 will be the next time we hear of this game, to be honest.

Off topic... those big DS screen kiosk 'things'... how do the DS graphics hold up when stretched to screen sizes like that, I wonder?

I had completely forgotten about this. This is definitely going to be a can't-miss title for sports fans and Mario fans a like. I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on this one.

Have we heard anything about wi-fi available for this game? that would ROCK.

Yeah, it is definitely supposed to have Wi-Fi capabilities, but to what extent is unknown.

I would ASSUME, that it would be an option to have 6 people playing at the same time.

I can imagine the mini-games for this game. There can be so many. Maybe they can include a 5 on 5 mode? That would be insane!

I'm excited about the game and love the fact that they changed the title to Mario Hoops so when you search for a topic about it before posting a new one you don't see this one LOL oops

Hopefully they'll have a nice WiFi set up for this one, instead of the bare minimum like they've been doing.

Where did you read that? I thought most - if not all - Nintendo games on DS would be online?

Where did you find that because last night IGN had this to say:

In addition to the WiFi compatible battle mode that we played at the show, the game includes tournament, exhibition and practice modes.

Only the games that feature a good amount of multiplayer will be online, which this game is.

I haven't heard anything about Wi-fi being left out of this title, and it seems like Sqaure would be passing up a huge selling point if they didn't include Wi-Fi.

I wasn't hinting that I thought games like Kirby Canvas or New. Super Mario Bros. would be online ;) Of course, the game would need a healthy multiplayer component, where online play would be sorely missed if not included.

Does it still have the Final Fantasy characters included? :D

Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes, please...

Yes, the Final Fantasy characters are included.

Man, this game is so much fun. I know some reviewers were complaining about the controls, but it is not that bad. Just practice and you'll get the hang of it. The graphics are great, but too bad it's not Wi-Fi enabled. Now, if we can get Mario Tackle Football or something.......

yeah.. the controls, take a lil adjusting, but the game is solid, and more importantly REALLY FUN!!!

How is the single player?
I'm going on a trip in a few weeks and this was one of the games I was hoping to get if it has good enough replay value.

I was excited for this game, but after reading the review off of gamespot I doubt I will be buying it.

You need two copies for multiplayer, and although the game looks fantastic and I am sure it will be fun, it seems to be one of those games that gets boring without solid human components.

This is the same thing I found with mario strikers, which was a fantastic game, and one of my all time favourite multiplayer sports game, but the single player didn't really hold my interest.

Well, the recent ones have been decent. The original NES sports series was hit or miss. I think this might be Nintendo's first basketball game, no?
