Anyone out there have a game concept and know how to code for Nintendo NES?

I have an oppty to work with a company that can help bring out a new title. Wondering if anyone has the knowledge and/or background to attempt an NES homebrew.

Feel free to PM me for more details and to discuss.

Afaik you need ASM 6502 skills to program NES games. You can use C++ too, but it will be slow.

Try the nesdev.parodius.com forum. Those guys are pretty knowledgeable. So if it is for a company would those who help get paid? :D

How do you plan to get around the lockout chip?

Great questions and unfortunately, I can't share too much information at this time.

I can let you know I have access to development kits and this is legitimate.

And it's great someone asked about money! Capitalism is alive and well! (and yes, money is involved.)

You dont need developekits to make your own nes games. You can easaly (with some knowledge of course) make reproduction carts, all you need is some EPROMs, a flasher and a old PCB board that uses the right mapper. So it shouldnt be that big of a problem to flash your own game like this.

That's correct. What I'd go ahead and say though is just produce it as a ROM. I mean, there's many ways to go with it, but the money I don't believe really is there. This would be more of a spare time thing to not expect big bucks. Not to mention, as a ROM people can grab it and emulate it on their many other systems, instead of restricting it to classic NES users.

There were no official NES devkits. Companies made their own. So, I assume, this is a "homemade" dev kit, which is pretty normal. I really would like to hear more about this project though...sucks you can't talk about it. Makes it harder to find folks for it too if they don't know what they are getting into.
