As you can clearly see, my favorite system would be the Sega Genesis, heh. I acquired most of the Genesis games I have today by clearing out the local EB when they were having their half off sale while they were trying to get rid of the classic games (Sadly, most of the good NES and Super NES games were already taken, I really wanted to buy that Mega Man II, Kirby's Adventure, Super Metroid, Mega Man VII, and Secret of Mana they had there...).

Problem is nowadays there are no places close by that sell classic games, so now I have to get all my games off eBay, something I'm not very fond of, as I'm very impatient when it comes to waiting for the games to arrive, heh.

Either way, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like some comments on what I have here so far. I'm only 16 years old, and don't have a job as of yet, so getting new games has been a hassle these days. Thanks!

Very nice collection, although you could get rid of a couple turds in there.

I'll start off with a great Welcome to the Digital Press forums!

Don't worry about the comments because they'll come from time to time and you can also place pictures of your collection at:
www.videogamecollectors.com
That's the DP collectors site for showing off your "Room of Doom". Also you can visit the Online Rarity Guide to store your game list on here and look up information such as: Rarity, value, description, ect.. Also if you have any problems with finding games you can always visit the trading forums on here.

You have some good tastes in your current collection. It does look like a ton of commons (Just like me) but that isn't bad. Of course there's plenty of hardcore collectors that know more beyond my years but we all find a way to get long with new fish. Make sure to post any new finds in the forums to, we like to see what others get!

Nice collection there, kinda reminded me when I first started collecting for my SNES a year ago.

Was that in reference to what I said? Hey, it's a great collection, way better than mine. But there are just a handful a titles in there that should be sold off.

But you fail to realize that most people's collection is just that - a collection. (S)he may own those games for the sake of the collection and not because they want to play them. I own Dennis the Menace for SNES solely for the collection. Yes, I know the game is a "turd", but it is part of a whole collection.

-SuperYoshi-, welcome to the site. You'll soon get used to all of our topics flying off topic! In the meantime, you should check out the lottery and arcade. They're a good way to earn meseta, if you're at all interested.

My partial game collection list is here (http://www.fullcirc.net/game%20collection) if you want to check it out. I've got a ways to go to get everything archived, but as in my game playing, I need to get everything possible about the game before it goes up on the site. I'm going to post manual scans for the NES games next, and then complete the NES collection and start the SNES one.

Heh, thanks everyone (I'm a guy by the way :P).

Yeah, I know my collection has its share of crappy games, most of which I got in lots, but I see no point in selling them seeing as most are relatively worthless, so I just tuck em in the back of the closet, rarely to be played more than once.

Wow good stuff, how long did it take since you stared being a serious collector?

I've been collecting ever since I first got my Genesis back in '93, then around 2000 or so something seriously sparked my interest in classic games, so around then I started truely collecting. I have to say, 2005 was my best year collection-wise. In late 2004 I rememember my collection was around 160 or so, but you have to know in 2005 was around the time that ALL the game stores seemed to be getting rid of their classic stock. I took advantage of the frequent sales Gamestop and EB had, which is probably why I got so many more games in such a short time.

It really does make me sad, though. Never again can I walk into a Gamestop/EB with $5 in my hand and walk out with 2 or 3 NES games.

Don't you ever go to flea markets?

There's no flea markets within walking distance (Infact, there's nothing within walking distance...God, I hate the suburbs), I don't drive yet, and I have real paranoid parents who think every video game at a flea market or garage sale etc. is broken.

In my experience I've found more broken / damaged / incomplete / "I just bought this used PS1 game and there's no disc inside" games at the chain stores than I've ever found at flea markets / yard sales. LOL

It's not a bad start for a colection. No great hidden gems among it, but plenty of solid titles. Lots of so-so to outright lemons, but everyone has a skeleton or two in their gaming closet. I have seen worse, but you work with what's available in your area.

Yup, that it would be.

Figured sense I had nothing more to add, I'd leave it alone.

Well, someone cought on and realized they wont just seeing double.

Ok, it's off topic and all, but here's another post.
