Confirmed on http://rev.ign.com
It will "best of" Genesis and Turbografx. No word on if third party titles (other than Sega and Hudson) will be included...
Cheers,

For someone in the US, this is a cool prospect, but for the Japanese, its huge. They are all about conserving space, and if they can have all those PC Engine games they used to have, along with Famicom, Super Famicom, Mega Drive, Nintendo 64, Gamecube and new Revolution titles all on one system, it will practically insure a nice market share. They are gaga over the DS (as are we to some extent) and will support Nintendo on this.
On the other side, imagine being a US gamer and getting to play Dracula X for the Duo on your living room television for the first time for the low, low price of $19.99. (Yes, Konami would need to be involved, but this could now happen). Imagine the possibilities. It is almost like Nintendo is leaving the hi-fi business to Microsoft and Sony and deciding instead to take on GameTap. Middle America is more likely to use something they can hook up to their TV for emulation than using a PC to emulate old games, even with a service like GameTap. Actually, it is interesting that the Revolution, and to a lesser extent, XBox Live Arcade, are taking a good chunk of the Infinium Labs Vapor..., uh, I mean Phantom business model to the market. :wink 2:
Nintendo is trying to revolutionize the business, and I am 200% behind them. They are insuring that there is something for everybody. Not everyone is interested in the Halo's and Call of Duty 2's of the world.

How is this Revolutionary? It's emulation. Nintendo didn't invent that.

Didn't Nintendo say they were going to make some kind of connector so you can plug in your old controllers into it to play the classic games?

Hmm...it's nothing that hasn't been done on the X-Box equipped with a fatter HD, but it's still cool as hell!
I'm behind Nintendo on this one. Especially if this system is inexpensive compared to 360 or PS3. Paying $400+ for a new system plus games is kind of scaring me off.
Cheap Bastard Syndrome in full effect here. LOL

What?!? This news is crazy! I need more info on third party involvement.
Anyways, so what's this gonna do to the value of TurboGrafx/Genny stuff? Will it rise due to the expanded popularity? Or will it fall due to the games being more accessable?

Yes, it willl be interesting to see how the market reacts to this. (I'll be watching ebay like a hawk in case TurboChips get cheaper!)

My God. I know one guy who is going to go absolutely insane when he finds that he can download Turbo games onto his Revolution.

Well lets be honest though.. Turbografx/PC-engine emulation on the xbox sucks balls :P So if the Rev gets it perfect that'll be one definite advantage over the psp/xbox tg16 emus :)

And the proof of a higher power is finally unveiled...by the way, imagine if we saw full-speed Saturn emulation and translated Japanese games.
