...the game won't F***ING allow to enter the final battle. GOD OF WAR rips off these games: R. & CLANK games, THE MARK OF KIRI, MAX PAYNE, and INCREDIBILE CRISIS.

that game is so glitchy. It's frozen on me a couple of times. Usually after a long battle and a long time since the last save

Odd, I never had any problems at all with this game and I bought it used. Never froze, never stuttered, excellent game all around.

The GameFAQs God of War forum is full of threads about the glitches, which types of copies of the game are glitched, etc...

It's still a great game though, despite how frustrating the glitches are. That's the sign of a truly fantastic game.

I actually thought the game was a wonderful experience, granted I didn't play it and experience any glitches. My experience was definately one of the better ones of 2005.

I tried it again from the area with the red glowing grave and now the game loads before I enter ruined temple with the dying woman. It didn't do that befoe. A buggy game is no fun, especaiily since I won't be able tofight the last boss of the game.

Ahh yes...God of War. Great game besides it's half hour final battle where Ares flaming hair of power LOCKS UP ON THE FINAL HIT THREE TIMES. Oh well, he finally died the 4th time.

I wonder if the lock ups are because of playing them on an older PS2? my guitarrist has an older PS2 than me (we both own the original style case) and he had to return some games because they would do the same thing on his but not on mine. I personally did not have any lockup issues with this game, although I did have Dave Mirra 2 lockup before.

I'm thinking the same thing. I played through this game a few months ago and didn't experience any of the problems that other people are reporting, though to be fair, I installed the game to my hard drive :)

God of War was one of those games I didn't think I'd like, especially when people began comparing it to Rygar PS2. You don't know how glad I am that I took a chance on it, though. I think I spent $30 for my used copy, and I feel like I really should have bought it new to make my sale really count :(

Wonderful game design (well, other than that box pushing segment way at the begining of the game and the final battle, which is just a button mashing frenzy), some of the best art direction I've ever seen, and the game raises the bar on what to expect out of a videogame in the extras department. All of the behind the scenes and backstory stuff was awesome, and those deleted scenes were great.

That's funny, considering most people have never even heard of Zork.

Great game, though.

Infocom rules :D

Leather Goddeses of Phobos still burns in my mind, the Scratch-N-Sniff idea was classic :D

I need to go get God of War ... Looks like its going to be alot of fun.

I finally had a chance to fight the final boss. One tip that may prevent a glitch: Don't save at door before you go down the stairs to meet the god of war. I have tried it 4 times: saving twice (at that spot)before I fight him and not saving twice. After saving, I couldn't get the cut scene to start the fight OR the stairs didn't exist for me to exit. Save at the gravedigger's site. May or may not help.

I have never had to explain what Zork is to anyone yet.. even kids.

Game works great for me.. never had a problem.

I have heard about numerous glitches in the game on gamesfaq.

The only ones I have experienced though (frustrating all the same) are ones where you get locked into a room and a forced battle begins. Twice or three times I have destroyed all enemies (and spawns) in the room yet the game still remains in "battle mode" with the exits sealed. Nothing to do but "restart from last checkpoint".

As for the 1st post, I haven't played Ratchet & Clank, Max Payne and Incredible Crisis. The storytelling approach (w/ narrator, etc) is similar to Mark of Kri (both by Sony). But I felt the feel of the game borrowed a lot from Devil May Cry and Onimusha. Soul/orb collection, insane combos, levelling of weapons, "super" modes (devil trigger/onimusha/rage of the gods)

Of course I liked DMC and Onimusha series, so I am really enjoying this game. Except for some of the frustrating platforming segments.

yeah there were some really frustrating platforming segments

that really drove me crazy on this game

though I bought it last week and actually finished it already, great game definitly worth the 29.99 cdn

Put me in the no glitches camp too. Played it and beat it in it's original week of release on the original model.

Well deserved of it's critical acclaim in 2005, it's one of the finest games on the PS2.

I got it last week for £6. It's a great game for the price.:D I've had no bugs yet. I'm playing it on a slimline. The only problem I've had is tapping O fast enough when I'm beating up a Minotaur, and I'm sort of stuck on a bit about 2 1/2 hours into it where you rescue the Oracle from the rope. I'm sure I could do it easily if I put some effort into it. :P

I didn't experience any bugs at all. Maybe the difficulty level has something to do with it? I beat it on the default difficulty.
