Anyone?

I sure wish I had some game saves from back then, like Final Fantasy II and III.

I DO however have my Final Fantasy VII save on my launch PS1 memory card, and a few other saves, was pretty awsome to go back and see all the character names I changed etc, great stuff!

I would if I would not have made the horriable horriable mistake of selling alot of my NES and SNES games which I am now buying back. I wish I still had my old copy of Kirby Superstar which was the first game I ever beat. I would love to have to save file for the first game I ever beat.

I can only think of a handufull of saves I had as a kid that have NEVER erased on me. Sonic 3, Donkey Kong (GB), Banjo-Kazooie, and Star Fox 64.

I gotta get a soldering iron or something some day to fix all those batteries that've died. Especially my Final Fantasy II. It always erases my file at the worst possible moment. I hear electrical tape works too, I might as well try that.

My Earthbound, Sonic 3 (and Sonic 3 & Knuckles), Phantasy Star IV, and Landstalker saves are still intact.

Now that I have acquired a Shining Force II that saves, I can enjoy playing it again, but there's still the matter of repairing my brother's copy...

I was playing Kirby's Adventure for the NES the day my Super NES came in the mail. I saved my progress and left the file unaltered. I'm pretty sure it's still there, but I'd have to check.

****KNOCKS ON WOOD****

Anyways, I have tons of my saves still intact. Here are some that worked well just the last time I checked them (within the last 4 or 5 months):

Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy II
Dragon Warrior II
Dragon Warrior III
Earthbound (for some reason I can't find my cart though?!)
Crystalis
Phantasy Star SMS

...and more I can't think of now.

It's funny, the "old" 8-bit ones like the Dragon Warrior series still have my old game name from elementary/jr. high............BLADE (yes all CAPS). LOL It's funny what you think is cool when you still play with Ninja Turtles and Legos....wait I still do that...DOH! LOL

I have no save files from when I was a kid :(

I was stupid and sold my consoles and games to upgrade to the latest and greatest consoles. Pretty stupid of me, but I get the impression a lot of people make that mistake.

I really wish I could get some of my save files back. At one point I had leveled all of my Final Fantasy III characters to level 99. I took out Kefka in one round.

I've actually manged to track down my old copy of Final Fantasy II. The guy I sold it to gave it back to me years later (I think his SNES died if I remember correctly), but unfortunately all my saves had been erased. Not that it matters though, the battery is on its last legs regardless (luckily I saw that thread on replacing batteries :))

Earthbound, Mario RPG, Super Mario 64, Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, among many other n64 games that required a save.

Anything I saved on a cart is still there. I've lost many memory card saves though.

Haha, same here. Good topic though. The oldest saved data I have is from Super Punch-Out on the SNES. All of my NES save states have been overwritten to death since I bought them.

All my SNES saves are still there! Even FFIII, where they're still out there where I left em, gaining experience with the 2 exp. eggs equipped (currently level 89).

I still have my old memory card saves on Final Fantasy 7-9, Wild Arms and Legend of Dragoon

Breath of Fire 1 (SNES) my characters were true killing machines.

Final Fantasy III (Famicom) 2 ninjas and 2 sages, the 3rd ultimate combo

Y's (Sega Master System) I saved right after the final battle. Just load the game up, and read the book of Dekt, and bam there's your ending.

I actually do have a couple saves from when I was a little kid, and I remember exactly which ones they are:

My original file on Super Mario World is still there. I started it Christmas day 1992, when I first got my SNES. I was only 9 years old. I finally got it to 100% (96*) sometime in early 1993...and the file has been there ever since. I have NEVER erased it, or replaced it with another file. When the day finally comes and I turn on Super Mario World to discover the battery finally bit the dust and my 13 year old file is gone...I may just shed a tear. :(

On Donkey Kong Country 2 for SNES...my original 102% file I started working on in December 1995 when I first got the game (I was 12 years old) is still there...and it has 17 hours game time on it! I've just never been able to bring myself to erase the file...since I know it's my first one.

My copy of Super Mario 64 still has the first file I ever started on it which was Christmas day 1996 (I was 13). I got all the stars on that file...and I've never tried to get them all again. I just play the game through for fun from time to time...but I never try to collect all the stars.

Those are the only files I still have from when I was a "kid". All the other files I have on games range from when I was in my late teens to now-a-days.

My ultima exodus save files are still there

all 3 of em jimmy, mario, luigi, all my charecters are still there.. all 3 save files had charecters prepared to take on exodus (some mulitple)

my dragon warrior 2,3,4 all have thier save files..I was able to back them up with a copynes about a year ago..but when backing it up? one of my 4 save files died while still in the copynes :-((

all my copies of ff2 and 3 (5x and 3 x respectively) all have thier saves ,I really think the only game who's battery ever shit the bed would be 2 of my copies of the first shining force..there was somethign seriously cheap about the battery in that game.

Considering I still have all my NES and SNES games from when I was growing up, then yes I do. Fun to play the games after months or even years and try to remember where you were, what you were doing and the controls.

That would be cool if the saves were dated, to see when you last played that game

I know one game that does, Tengai Makyo/Far East of Eden Zero on Super Famicom. Has a built in clock, and can detect seasons and there is a temple in the game that detects holidays as well. Best time to play it is when Christmas rolls around.

I have a bunch of save games on Appli ][ 5.25" floppies that still work. I've been working here and there on getting them transferred to the PC so that I can play 'em on emulator.

They didn't have save games when I was a kid :)

I do have a bunch of C64/128 floppies that have my saves on them, though. I doubt most of them are any good, I had a really hard time keeping the 5.25 floppies from gettting corrupted 20 years ago, so I doubt they're any good now. Not that I have a C128 or a 1571 to test them on anymore anyway...

Saves from when I was a kid? Sorry, I don't think they ever had save features on Etch-A-Sketches...or toy soldiers...or hula hoops...

That's funny! LOL They didnt have them for Transformers, Go-Bots, Gi-Joe, or Atari 2600 either. PCs were around back then but with their prices, my family couldnt afford that kind of price. Isnt that amazing how 10-20 years passed and not much changed?

I think the save on my Zelda cart is still hanging in there. I know my StarTropics saves are still good too.

Unless they have since died most of mine should still be there. i still have MOST of my childhood games, as I never stopped playing them or sold any for upgrades on any large scale. I also have always only used 1st-party memory (how many times have I been asked "what is THAT?" about official n64 cards...).

I'd assume by now some batteries have died and cards have fried however.
