I've recently been collecting Atari 2600 games after I found a 2600 and a box full of games at a flea market. I'm looking for recommendations. Here are the titles I have now:
Adventure
Asteroids
Atlantis
Beamrider
Breakout
Combat
Crackpots
Crazy Climber
Gopher
Gravitar
Kaboom!
Keystone Kapers
Kool-Aid Man

H.E.R.O. - There are more advanced versions but in many ways I like the 2600 original best.

Thanks! I'll look for it on eBay some time this week. Any others?

dragonfire
ms pac man
warlords
pitfall 2
frogger
demon attack
mega mania
just to name a few
the great thing about common atari carts is that they are often so cheap, you can take some chances and not really get burned if the game is a dud (in fact, you can get a good laugh out of the duds)

the video game critic is a pretty good judge of classic games

Man, now I feel stupid for making this thread without looking there. Thanks for the links, though! I'll save some of these titles in a .txt file.

One game that I don't see many people talking about:
Worm War I:
http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=24415
I played it on the emulator years ago and loved it. I finally found it one day at the pawn shop and snatched it up. It's a lot like Space Invaders except with worms crawling back and forth. It's easy to begin with and slowly gets faster. It's worth a bit of attention! :)

You may also want to take a look at Retrogaming Times (http://www.tomheroes.com/Video%20Games%20FS/Retrotimes/retrogam.htm) for some indepth reviews and it's continuation Retrogaming Times Monthly (http://my.stratos.net/~hewston95/RTM/RTM_Home.htm). Alan Hewston's "Many Faces Of..." articles are a great reference between different releases of retrogames, help you to sort out the stinkers of some ports - the 2600 had quite a few.
Games I'd recommend:
You really can't go wrong with Activision games - Grand Prix, Megamania (as was said), Spider Fighter and Freeway being my favorites.
Ms. Pac-Man is a much better port on the 2600 than the original.
Jungle Hunt
Kangaroo
Queen Of The Felines

Was Crazy Climber in this flea market box? If so, I hate you. LOL
I'd recommend pretty much anything by Activision and Imagic.

A wierd game I always liked (and just popped in my head when reading thsi thread) was Cosmic Ark. Any of the Imagic games are great, Kaboom (with paddles) is awesome...
And my all time favorite: Laser Blast.

Missile Command is fantastic, and it should only run you 50 cents to a buck.
