for people who don't have tables, how much stuff do you usually bring? if you bring a lot of stuff, where do you keep it all? it would suck to carry a bunch of stuff around the whole time.

Last year, I brought nothing, and stuffed everything I bought into the 2 bags I owned.
This year, I'm going to send the stuff ahead of time, and keep it in my room.

My first year: Came alone with one carry-on suitcase. Suitcase contained a few changes of clothes (t-shirts and shorts, socks, and boxers), travel kit (the comb, toothbrush thingy), a book for the plane, the Venture IIs I was distributing that year, and that's it. (Oh, and a wad of cash.) And, when the VIIs were gone, I had room in the carry-on for all the booty I purchased.
Last year: Brought the wife. Had 3 large suitcases because of it. I, however, had my own personal carry-on suitcase as last year. One large suitcase was designated "Tim's Suitcase" and was deliberately left empty just for all the stuff I was going to buy. Damn near filled it too.
This year: Plan on forcing wife to pack small. (Airport screening has become too complex to take more than one suitcase in my opinion.) Will mail back anything I buy just so I don't have to explain to over-anxious airport security that the electronic item in my case is a Pong unit and not an Iraqi weapon.

Wow, I didn't even think about this. Does anyone else plan on mailing back their stuff afterwards just so they don't have to deal with airport security?

Last year I filled my trunk to the brim with stuff, but I only traded like once. The trade meet didn't last long enough for me, and it was hard to look around because I had to stay near my stuff. Bring a list of all the items you have, and if possible, someone to stay near your stuff while you look around.
I agree, the trade meet can be a little short due to the time constraints of the auction that follows it. That's an excellent suggestion about bringing paper copies of your trade list to hand out to others.
As for space, I stick with my trick that I've been using at E-3 for years. Most sets of luggage have 2 suitcases, one smaller than the other. Just pack the small one and pop it inside the bigger one. Then you have the extra suitcase for the way back.
You're gonna need it this year!!!

2002 Was my first CGE--I brought nothing but bought so much I had to buy
two bags to bring it all back!

I went to 2001 and 2002's CGE, and I didn't bring much. But this year I'm going to bring all the extras I have (won't be too many, but I'm most likely driving again this year, so I can bring as much as I can 8-) ).
