Kingdom Hearts II should be shipping tomorrow, anyone else getting this game?
There are reviews already trickling in on the web.
9.0 - VGONetwork (http://www.vgonetwork.com/Review.aspx?id=377)
9.0 - 1UP (http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3149052&did=1)
EGM also gave it a 9.5. Looking good so far.
From what I've heard from friends that reviewed it, the game is awesome. I've had a few hours hands on with the Japanese version and it seemed really well polished, I'm definately looking forward to playing through the game if I have time.
I haven't played Chain of Memories(GBA) so I don't know what happened in between KH I and II, but I downloaded this video and it fills you in pretty much: (OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS VIDEO)

:)
Also where is everyone getting the game? Any price deals anywhere?

As a self-proclaimed hater of just about everything to come out of Square-Enix post FFVI (Dragon Quest excluded) and a person who generally tires of traditional RPGs, i must say i'm really looking forward to KHII.
I only briefly flirted with the frist Kingdom Hearts game, but it was fun and original and it had Donald. Kingdom Hearts II looks even better so if it gets good reviews from the unbiased DP crowd i think i may pick it up.

Somehow KH1 had EVERYTHING going for it but I never got into it...there was just too much frustration to keep me going forward....Hopefully ,they've fixed that in KH2.
Aslong as they updated the camera and the AI i'll be a happy camper. Donald and goofy were dumb asses IMO.

Looks like Gamestop is getting this one in early...at least we got a phone call telling us that it would be in Tuesday afternoon.
But Best Buy is running a good deal for Wednesday-get the original KH or the GBA game for $9.99 with purchase of KHII.
Also, the limited edition strategy guide looks nice.
I too only briefly engaged the original game, but I did enjoy the time I messed around with it. The new level inclusions for this outing, particularly the Tron level, make me want to play it.

I'm sure I'll know sometime this evening when it is given to a specific someone and they take over the TV for the next who knows how long playing it.
Thank god i've got a handheld or three I can play for a while... :D

I will be picking the game up at my local GameStop today after school. I didn't get into KH1 until waaay after its launch. I think the thing keeping me away from it was all the emo kids who adored it.
I'm actually pretty suprised this launch isn't bigger. As big as this game is, I was expecting riots in the streets. Well, if not here, certainly in Japan. Wait, has it been released in Japan yet?
it came out last december in Japan, sold 1 million in the first 3 days, so yeah i imagine there were line-ups LOL

I agree. I enjoyed the game but the most "heartless" part about it was the camera.

Well, see, I wasn't following it that much. So that is news to me.

I was going to pick this up today, but I have enough of an RPG backlog -- not to mention other genre backlog as well -- that I couldn't justify dropping $50. I bought the first one at release and thought it was fantastic, and I think that this one will be excellent as well. Still, these types of games require time and commitment, so I'll probably hold off for a bit on it.

How's it look/feel? I'd imagine like the MGS3 or Soul Calibur 3 ones, right? I've only seen the regular guides today.

I've haven't played any KH games to date, but they're on my list. My girlfriend is a big fan of the first one, and is looing forward to this new one. She doesn't know it yet, but when I get out of work tomorrow I plan on picking up this new one, the GBA one and the limited strategy guide as a present.

I bought KH1 last week at the store, because of all the hype surrounding KH2. I'm roughly 4 hours into it, and its... alright. I mean, its nothing AMAZING IMO, but its a decent fun game. Maybe once I get more into it? (How long does to take to complete?)

Somehow KH1 had EVERYTHING...
Including bad collision detection!! LOL My number one pet peeve in video gaming. Never did complete the first due to that, had enough of slowly sliding off platforms I was firmly standing on. However the sequel looks interesting, come on, a TRON world... so I'll probablly get around to it as well as the first again.

It looks like the ones you mentioned, with the outer slipcase and locking tab, although it's got 2 books inside-The strat itself and a book of characters and other related stuff that looks like Jiminy's journal. Oh, and it has 4 different covers for the strat, and you don't know which one you'll get until you open it. And it's really thick.
It feels like paper, btw. :P

I loved Kingom Hearts and it was not a typical type of game I would play fully through in only several days. It took me somewhere between 20 and 30 hours, and that was after getting the bonus ending; near 100% completion if I rememeber correctly.
I've been looking forward to the sequel since before it was announced, but from what I have read so far, I'm not going to drop $50 for this right yet. IGN gave it a 7.6 mainly due to the ease of gameplay and what they seem to think is a broken system that doesn't really have much difficulty.
I'm sure it's not bad, but I know I will be let down compared to the first.

Ok, so what are those forms of Sora in the LE of the strat guide?

I started playing on "Proud" (a.k.a. difficult) for this very reason. IMO, normal setting should be as hard as Proud. I'm having a pretty decent time fighting enemies, although I never had to worry about having enough potions or things like that.
Heck, I even died once! For me, a game is no fun unless it's just tough enough that you die a few times when you get careless, and learn from the mistakes.
I like the game overall so far, although Cid's voice makes me cry on the inside ><

Well, I just finished the game and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a bit slow in the beginnning, but it picked up and, in hind sight, the beginning made more sense. I think it deserved higher than the crappy 7.6 IGN gave it. I think I likeit a bit more than the original since there are way less frustrating parts to it than the original, although it does have a few frustratingm moments. Good game to me...i just wish they would have made a board out of Lilo & Stitch.
