I've been putting this one through enough people and they all see my point. I have a theory that at some point Nintendo and Apple will collaberate. In what way I'm not sure, Revolution using Apple's OS, why not? Here are the 3 main reasons why I think this

1. Who is the competitor to Microsoft & LInux (soposidly being used in the PS3)
2. Look at the Designs, very similair.
3. Downloading service, Apple has a very profitable that they are introducing Igames. Rev will have downloadable content, who better to help them out in this part.

So, what do you guys think of my theory, you have to admit It wouldn't be as far fetched as you think.

Yeah, iGames was a joke.

I think your theory, while unlikely, would be a great idea. Nintendo and Apple working together, the thought has crossed my mind, but I just don't think that it will happen.

When you think about the Revolutions design, it looks very apple like. It gives that minimalist/clean look to thte console. Also, if the whole virtual console is anything like iTunes, then it will be a success. I am not for sure on numbers, but I know that iTunes is very popular. It's simple to use and easy to navigate, perfect for downloading new content. The only problem in your whole theory that I can see is the Revolution running on Apple OS. Im not sure if Apple as a company would be up to that.

I definately see the similarities. Pretty nifty stuff!

Nintendo has actually said that they are being similar to apple and in one press conference has used the comparision to show how the revolution will be successful with simple intuitive games and a very clean interface.

iTunes has sold a bit over a Billion songs if im not mistaken, and that would be a dream collaboration for me.

Hmmm...good food for thought.

Here are my immediate impressions:
-Apple has never had a gaming presence whatsoever
-Apple and Nintendo aren't known for successful collaboration...they tend to be insular
-Nintendo has a "games only" philosophy (you could argue whether this is choice or necessity)...yeah, they could use Apple's help for downloadable content, but that wouldn't exactly be a "partnership" any more than ABC and Apple have a partnership because you can download Lost on iTunes
-the what, how, and especially WHY of Nintendo's downloadable classics thing is still unclear
-but hey, "you got your iPod in my DS"...I'm interested

yea, and think about how the next GameBoy would look like. With the ability to dl games & music & movies of Itunes and Nintendo's dl service on an internal hd. Like i said this was a neat theory I came up w/, based on general facts that intersect each company. But hey if it happens everybody has got to give me mad ups LOL

I hope they never collaborate. I don't want the rev to be gay :(

if one finds masculinity in their videogame consoles then one surely is a sad pimplyfaced loser with a Tac-2 sized willy.

and for Nintendo not being a renegade? go back to the 80s and look what they did or go over to www.chucknorrisfacts.com for your dose of masculine renegadin'

you'd think the apple might have had some success with PC gaming in the 80's, but i guess some just don't feel that way :P

i see alot of parallels in architecture between a mac and a gamecube, and with the revolution as well, it wouldn't surprise me to see itunes on a revolution

I hadn't considered the Apple II computers (I was a Commodore guy). I stand corrected!

the more i think about this...the more it makes sense....Nintendo gains an already proven and trusted distribution network/platform...Apple gains yet another media type in the iTunes library...might get a % of the additional revenue stream that Nintendo generates...

Shit you're right - or the grey and pastel purple SNES. damnit! :( Oh well, nintendo and I can still be friends, just as long as it doesn't try to do anything funny (no more blowing in the nintendo). From now on there will be a strict don't ask, don't tell policy with my videogame systems.

The carts may do as they wish.
