KOF Max Impact 2 will now be called "KOF 2006"
:bawling: I feel hurt inside....and I dunno where it's coming from....probably from soiling the name..or the fact that a 3D game is being considered a sequel...

Kinda lame that they renamed it, thus clusterfucking whatever continuity and storyline that they were trying to keep going....but hey, it's no big deal really.
Maximum Impact was a fun (if broken) 3d fighting game. MI2 looks like more of the goodness with more emphasis on obscenely large tits and colorful costumes, and that's never a bad thing (as Dead or Alive proved).

What I don't get about this is that the reason they stopped using a year in the main titles was so that they wouldn't be outdated by the time console ports happened.
This being console only I guess it kind of makes sense, but still, weird decision.

Wow...the KOF line just took it hard in the ass. Aligning this game with the 2d fighting series is a travesty.

Just stupid by the time the get around to releasing this its going to be 2007 easily. Then no one will buy it. I'n shure as hell not.

I never thought I'd see people get bent out of shape in disgust because of a stupid name change.
Considering the 2D line has taken to number themselves based more on the series itself(the latest being KOF 11) they probably figured they could tack on the yearly scheme to their 3d series. Contrary to popular belief, they did sell pretty damn well last time around.

Frankly, the story has been clusterfucked LONG before this... not that anyone really pays a lot of attention to storylines in these kinda games anyways.

Well I heard it was only going to be called KoF2006 in America and in Japan was going to keep its original title and not be part of that line.

Eh. I'm all set up to KoF XI, so I think that's plenty of 2D KoF action to keep me satisfied forever.
