Not my area of expertice but I think that Blockbuster released (in limited supply) Scultor's cut (version of Clayfighters 63 1/3), Stunt Racer and Indiana Jones.

Does anyone know if these 3 only were released thru blockbuster? Was Indiana jones released outside of blockbuster? Do sealed versions (factory) of the three still exist? or are open mint the best you can do for collecting?

It seems like there are a bunch of Indian Jones n64 on ebay open, from Canada. There were also some sealed ones from Canada offered about a year ago and I have one.
Are these different from the blockbuster releases?

Any help with above appreciated

Indiana Jones was also available direct from Lucasarts.

A factory sealed Sculptor's Cut isn't very likely to happen. Just getting it complete could take you awhile, as it's the hardest one out of the entire library.

Complete w/ manual I fully agree, loose it is much easier to get.

Indiana Jones was also available new through blockbuster.com and maybe in some retail stores too. This is one of the easier sealed BB releases to find, along with Razor Freestyle Scooter which I have seen a good amount of sealed copies of.

In all honesty, I don't know if you will ever find a legit Sculptors Cut that is factory sealed. I do think that all of the other "BB Exclusives" or more generally put "limited releases" are attainable factory sealed. Even ISS 2000 which is also quite rare was sold outside of blockbuster, so with time and money you would be able to get one. I think DreamTR has one.

Oh yeah, and since this is the B&S forum, I'll put in a plug for myself:

I have the following "limited releases" for sale:
ISS2000 [complete]
NFL Blitz 2001 SE [complete]
Stunt Racer [complete]
Sculptors Cut [Boxed]
Razor [complete] (messed up label and manual though)

Is there a particular price your looking for on those games or are you just taking offers? As you can see I may be interested in a few.

does anyone know if there is a special instruction manual for clayfighter sculptor's cut or if the same manual is used which came with the regular game? or no manual at all with the blockbuster release?

Apparently Indiana Jones and Stunt racer were released as normal releases and as blockbuster releases and instruction manuals do exist

Wasn't Transformers:Beast Wars Transmetals a BlockBuster exclusive? I know BAM entertainment had planned on a retail release, but last I can remember they had decided against it.

It did indeed come with a manual... I'll check it out tonight when I get home. My copy is all f--cked up BAD but I do recall the instructions being different. I'll let you know how it differs from the original.

BTW... That Transformers game has GOT to be one of the worst games ever to appear on the N64... I'll rather play Superman or Carmageddon, really. I think it was a BB exclusive.

The beast wars game did have a retail release, it was very hard to find. I saw it at babbages before they closed down, the blockbuster label was removed from the box but otherwise it was identical.

I kick myself for not buying it,
1. because its proably one of the rarest releases
2. I collect transformer stuff.
3. cuz well yeah

I just didn't want to pay 60 for such a draw drroppingly awfull game back then.

I finally checked. Clayfighters Sculpter's Cut does indeed has its own game-specific manual. The cover is different, it mentions the name of the updated game throughout the manual, and it devotes a full page to each of the four extra characters that did not appear in the original game. I also discovered my instruction book is in worse case than I thought... it's complete (barely) but in tatters! I also have a damn BB sticker on the back of the cart.

:frustrated:

If I'm not mistaken, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys for the N64 was originally a rent-only title. But then I guess it was for sale at retailers after a while. I ended buying mine with the instruction manual and the box for $9.99 at Blockbuster, and of course it had Blockbuster written all over everything. This is a good game if you are a fan of the show like I am.

Hercules IS a surprisingly good game. It's not GREAT, but it's a hell of a lot better than I expected and reminded me A LITTLE of Zelda.

Xena: Warrior Princess, on the other hand, is a traditional 1 on 1 fighter like Tekken but without the variety of moves or even a halfway decent fighting engine. The graphics are quite nice, though, as are some of the character voices (or screams.) Hercules won THAT game fight.

Xena is a ok game. I just thought it would have been better as an adventure game. The fighting is decent, and it fits perfectly with the show. Too bad there wasn't a RPG made, I think that would have been awesome.

There is a Xena game on GBC that plays similar to Zelda (which some consider to be RPGish) that is also pretty decent but the deaths are cheaper than hell.
