Just open the case then pop out the tray Ive done that since early 1990's real easy to do :D just do it with caution because the jewel cases or the trays can get broken/cracked but once u get hang of it u will know how to do it like a PRO :D

Its a really simple process, just like dojosky said. Having worked in a music store for 6+ years I found the easiest way to do this is follow these steps.

1. Take the lid off first. To do so take one of the two hinges and lift it slightly with the case closed (don't force it or it'll explode) and the lid will pop right off.

2. Take the cd out of the tray. (Sounds obvious, but trust me people forget).

3. Grab the case by middle and put your thumb in the indentation either at the top or the bottom of the tray. Then start to pull, working on one of the two corners where your thumb is and it should pop out, then do the same thing to the corner on the other side. Once you've done that it'll open right up.

Switch out the insert and pop it back in, pushing one side (either top or bottom) in first and then the other side, put the lid back on and your done.

Word. I've cracked a couple Saturn cases in my day doing this :( You're right though, it is easy if you're careful.

Find a case you don't care about. Practice. Destroy it. Now you know.

Sounds like something I learned around 13 years old (once you get the hang of it, you will know how to do it like a pro.)

BTW thanks for the help everybody.

I always take mine out by picking up the edge where the spine is (on the left) and it always works for me.

Just becareful when snapping the cd holder back in place over the insert that you're not crunching the edge of the paper. I've seen plenty of games where the spine's folded and it looks like crap.
