Actually is not a codebreaking, but a encoding/decoding machine. The germans used this in WWII for encrypting their communications between naval command and submarines.

The auction is upto over 25000 euro now. The machine up for sale also looks like its in very good condition. Going to be cool to see how much the end price is :)

Yes, but we would use them for "breaking" those encrypted codes.

I would think an Enigma machine would be in a museum-- and sold between other museums-- not ebay.

Hardly doubt its fake. He said he checked with a dealer that confirmed its 100% real. You probly get some cerificate also. I bet there are quite a few enigma machines stored away in the attic to old nazis.
