So what should we call the non-360-owning gamers out there? Like you remember that episode of Family Guy where Peter gets surgery and is super-handsome. Then he tell Lois that they (the Handome People Club) call the regular people "normies"? I think we, as proud 360 owners, should develop a slur to insult the non-360 gamers. To me it doesn't matter who wants one or doesn't want one or is wait on this system or that. All I know is they're NOT one of us. So what should we call them?
Seeing as how the PS2 (both models released in the states) and the Xbox were black, along with at least one of the GameCube colors. How about "Blackies"? Or maybe just "Darkies"? See, the 360, PS3 and at least one color of the Revolution is going to be white, so the HD-generation of gamers will be "Lighties" or perhaps "Whiteys".
I think it could catch on. Sample conversation in IRC:

I own a 360... although I feel kind of out of place since my exploded on itself, and I'm getting a replacment.

I have noticed that many people give you "that look" at a game shop as you stand in the checkout line waiting to pay for whitey games. Or if you dare to ask the guy at the counter if there's anything new for whitey. O_O

It's strange. I enjoy and own many game systems just like any DP member.....but I can never recall as much negative criticism and remark with any other system as much as I get as a 360 owner.

People like to think their own uneducated opinion is important and valued by the general public.
Also, rumors always get the better of the sloth type general employee, most of them feed off it, its kind of amazing, like the discovery channel.

It's because people are expecting too much from the next generation due to Sony's hype machine.
If you've seen the new tech demos of the PlayStation3 floating around at the GDC, it's pretty clear that the Playstation3 is technically inferior to the 360. All of the games and tech demos shown were extremely underwhelming and looked like half a generation behind what we're playing on the 360.
It's the same as the Dreamcast... Sony pulled out the hype machine to get people geared up for PS2, so many consumers missed the DC boat. Then when the PS2 did come out, people started realising that the DC was superior, but it was too late.
I've never been more disappointed with a console than I was with my PS2... and it looks similar for the PlayStation3.
Xbox 360 on the other hand has delivered everything they promised when they first showed off the system. For me personally it's the greatest machine ever to be launched. Almost everything they promised us was working from day one. It's already got a fairly large selection of decent exclusive titles, and the controller is quite simply the greatest pad designed since the Sega Saturn. The 360 is a phenominal machine, but is being overshadowed by Sony bullshit.

I think it's funny that you get harassed because you own one! These are the same people that will buy one off you on eBay for $700. I haven't had anyone make comments about my ownership, although I do know what you mean when you ask about 360 games at the local EB. I'm used to that, though, because most of the games I end up buying from the storefront are obscure titles that come in used.
Basically, your neighbor worked very hard to cultivate his Xbox "lawn" with the very best pesticide and fertilizer, only to have you roll out a better quality "lawn" by purchasing rare Xbox 360 "sod". Now the neighbor brings his dog over and has Sparky shit on your sod every chance he gets.

Whitey, sad, but surprisingly funny, I like it. I never have a problem at the EB location I frequent as the two main clerks there bleed green blood and are hardocre xbox fanboys. Go Whitey GO!!!

It's not egotistical. The majority of people who posted in this thread own more than one console, from all of the big 3. I'll play my 360 this morning and fire up PSO for a rare-hunting marathon on the Dreamcast tonight. Or sit in the living room and watch TV while I goof around on my GBA. I couldn't give a shit less which console I'm on, as long as I'm gaming.
My point was that I'm astounded at how many game store employees are so quick to slam the 360. Instead of selling you what you want, they'll ask you why the fuck you were stupid enough to waste money on one!! The guy who made the "unfinished console" slam was the regional manager of our local EB!!
