Far Cry Instincts Preadator or Top Spin 2?

The new game craving has struck.... And since the 360 has 3 new games this week, I'm having a hard time deciding wether or not I want FCIP or Top Spin 2. Rumble Roses is out of the question. I hate wrestling. Unless the girls are real and wrestling in cooking oil in front of me... :D

I have played Far Cry only on the PC. I liked it there. I played it a little while at Best Buy, today. I liked what I played, but there are some major texture issues.

Virtua Tennis (which this series is, honestly) has always been one of my favorites. But there is no demo, and have no way of trying it out.

Did anyone else get any of these 2 games? Opinions on either?

EDIT : I rented FCPI... It's pretty good. Anyone get TS2?

I say get Top Spin 2. I haven't played it yet, but I played the hell out of original. Best tennis game ever (yes, even better than Virtua Tennis) and I hear the new one is even better. I hear FarCry for 360 is basically the same as the Xbox version with just better graphics.

FCIP is very fun, I played it at a friends house, but I haven't picked it up yet myself, I also had a chance to play topspin 2... and if you liked topspin 1, then this is for you. Now as for the two comparitively its sadly apples and oranges, if you want an FPS.. then get FCIP but if you have a craving for a tennis game, then ts2 is for you. Also FCIP and TS2 have different levels of replayability, FCIP has a deep... I mean DEEP map editor mode.... TS2, is replayable but not as much, in my book, as FCIP.... hope this helps

Let me put it this way, no one is buying Far Cry and we have a stack of copies that are already collecting dust.

We got three reserves on Top Spin 2, we only got three copies in.

Also note that Far Cry: Instincts on the XBoxes is a pretty different (though clearly in the same vein) experience from the PC games. The level design is more restrictive but more refined at the same time.

As an example you have less weapons than available in the PC game, but just about all of them are useful throughout the game for various purposes. You get some more eighties movie type moves too like setting up claymore mines and those bent tree branch traps. You can also roll on your back and shoot up (Lethal Weapon style, at one point you can crawl under a hut with guys in it, roll onto your back and perforate them through the floor boards). :D

In some ways it's better than the PC version. The parts with the hybrids/mutants are much better balanced and that really lame part of the final third of the game is more tightly paced. Great game overall, but a big Ubisoft release so it will be around forever and probably get real cheap real fast like Far Cry: Instincts did (though its price fluctuates).

Its vice versa in the 3 stores I work at. Frycry is flying off the shelves and no one wants top spin.

I picked up fry cry and I love it, the only thing is you have to beat the first game to get to the second one. I would imagine that would suck if you played the first one already. Luckily I havn't.

Normally, I would NEVER consider actually purchasing a game. Purchasing a game is so 2003. But in 2006, it's all about leasing games. It's all about extended rentals. So actually purchasing a game at normal prices is totally not gonna happen for me.

Top Spin 2 is $34.99 at Fry's. Now, I'm not sure if this is the 360's first budget title, or if that is their normal price, but I'm definitely heading to Best Buy to have them price match. (I have a Best Buy gift card).


If this game actually sells for $59.99 most places, then I'm definitely getting it. Might as well not waste one of my GameFly slots on it at that low a price. I could get Dynasty Warriors for $29.99 too, but I just don't have any interest in that. I definitely had alot of interest in Top Spin 2, but I've heard quite a few negative things about it, hopefully it isn't as bad as what I've been hearing.

Get Top Spin 2.

I'm a huge fan of the PC Farcry, and the Xbox version just cannot measure up to it. Its not bad, but its just nothing special at all.

At cheap, Farcry could be a fun pickup, but I hate having to play through the Xbox Instincts game to get to the 360 Evolution game.

Top Spin 2 your best bet. Top Spin 1 was one of the best sport games out there in my opinion.

Thanks for everyone's opinion. I may end up getting both, since I got the price wrong on TS2. It wont damage the wallet as bad as if it was $60.

I rented FCIP on Friday, and have played it a good deal this weekend. I liked it.. It's no CoD2, but it's enjoyable.

A question to anyone that got TS2.... How is the Multiplayer? This is what I'm most concerned about.

I've enjoyed the multiplayer a lot, but what I've played hasn't been online. The game as a whole is really faithful to the first one, and it improves it in a lot of ways, especially in the AI.

360 needs more $40 budget titles. I am trying to hold off on getting far cry, because I will be kicking myself when I can buy it on ebay 2 weeks from now for $30.
