All right... I've had it up to here with Commodore fans claiming that the Great Giana Sisters are better than their mighty male counterparts, the Super Mario Brothers. There is no way, and I mean NO WAY, that this cornball clone can ever come close to the genuine article on the NES. I've played multiple versions of Great Giana Sisters and none of them were as professionally designed, cleanly drawn, or as fun to play as the first Super Mario Bros.
I'm so certain of Super Mario Bros.' superiority that I'm willing to pit the two games against one another in a fight to determine, once and for all, which one is best. I've included a link to the Commodore 64 version of Great Giana Sisters below... play it, then try the first Super Mario Bros. again either on your NES or an emulator. After you've examined both games thoroughly, vote for the game you think is better in the poll I've included in this post. Also, if you've got the time, post some objective thoughts about the two games and how they compare.
This is the final showdown for Mario and Giana. Which one will survive?
