Since many of my posts apparently have been done before, it wouldn't surprise me if this one does as well. But, here goes...

I have only owned a few import games in my life, and I know that there are many, many good ones to get. It appears as though there are a lot of fans of import games here, and I was wondering what games would constitute "MUST HAVES."

I am particularly curious for play-value, but if there are any hard-to-get titles that cross your minds, that's cool info as well.

For example, I have heard that Ikaruga (sp?) for the Dreamcast is an excellent game.

What else should I try and get my hands on to play until 4 or 5 in the morning?

Much obliged...

eeeeeeeh which system?

on snes/sfc there are soooooo many titles worth importing, if u know japanese: FF V, Treasure Hunter G, Seiken Densetsu 3, Fire Emblem, Langrisser, Tales of Phantasia, All Dragon Quest, Power Sokoban (Released 1999 :o) (btw, i do own all of these :p) and a lot of other rpgs

if u don't know japanese, import terranigma, it's a MUST HAVE (i've got a spare german complete little used terranigma, would trade it for Lufia or Breath of Fire 2 Complete (US) ;)

Look, I know everyone hasn't been here forever or looks often enough to know what's there, but everyone *should* take a peek through the topics in the "Classic Discussions" forum. You can answer lots of questions using the Search feature as well.

Some topics are OK to re-invent, but others are truly "for the ages", and these discussions can continue for as long as we have a forum to hold them.

And so, I direct you here:

I had locked this orginally but at the request of the original poster have unlocked it, since he's getting at not just our favorite imports but also the most RARE imports.

I am kicking myself for not picking up Vibribbon when I was in Spain.

Sadly, it is so. After Um Jammer Lammy failed to light the U.S. market on fire, and in light of its lack of multi-textured polygons and "extreme" gameplay, Vib Ribbon got passed over for U.S. release.

Maybe if they had given Vibri a goatee, and a dirt bike, too...

Oh, and orrimarko, Vib Ribbon is not particularly rare yet. I believe you can still buy it new from NCS (ncsx.com).
