Hey guys can you play PAL games on a US SNES like you would SFC games by using a game genie with tabs cut out or by cutting the tabs out on the snes port to allow the game in??
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I have a Datel Pro Action Replay that I think converts PAL games to NTSC. It had an input on top and on the back. I’ve never tried it though.

A Game Genie or cutting the tabs will NOT work. Both of those are pass-through methods and don't do anything to change the signal from PAL to NTSC.
You can perform a region mod on your SNES. Or, the easier way is to use a converter such as a Pro Action Replay, Magic Key, etc. If the device has 2 slots (one for a PAL game, one for NTSC) it supports that conversion.
Be warned that some newer games will only work with newer versions of the adapters. A Pro Action Replay 2/3 will be compatible with most games.
I assume you want to play Terranigma, I hear people having success with the PAR2 or PAR3 mentioned above.

Somewhere out there someone makes a unit that attaches between the console and TV and converts any PAL signal to NTSC. The cool thing about this is you can use it on any console; but I'm pretty sure it's around $300. PSxpert had a debug unit for sale on eBay that included one of these devices. I wanted to win that auction SO bad simply for that convertor and not necessarily the debug PSX. As I recall the whole lot went for less than the value of the convertor. I'm still kicking myself for that one. Now that I think of it.. he WASN'T the one auctioning it.. he was the one who beat me out of it. :(

That wouldn't make any difference here - an NTSC console outputs NTSC no matter what region the game is from. Also, without any other kind of adaptor, a PAL game would still fail the region check on an NTSC console and would not boot.

Yes I just got Terranigma complete & boxed and now I want to actually play IT and not my emulator.
Does anyone here have a Pro Action Replay 2 that I can buy or trade for???

Does PAL Terranigma check for a functioning security chip? If not, get that soldering iron out. Do the security chip mod and the 50/60Hz mod. Then you'll have the best multiregion compatible SNES possible.
