I guess these are around 6-7 months old or so...lots of stuff changed in these pics, but you can see I have to move things around quite a bit, and EVERYTHING is double or triple backed on the shelves....I only have a limited amount of space to work with (700-800 sq ft) and I live with my girlfriend as well. YOu can't see the closets filled with prototypes for cart systems, and basically any of the Sega older systems sans SMS, which are all neatly tucked away in a closet and I kid you not, the kitchen cabinets as well....

(I ran out of room so I had to stack SNES games next to the crapload of video game clothing I have....those SMS games at the top go back 7 rows each column....)

Very nice collection! I always wondered where members put their games when they run out of room? I am married and my wife is cool with me collecting video games. Just not sure how far I can go since I am in an apartment right now.

I was lucky, I had 75% of this stuff when my gf moved in, and she collects a lot of books and knickknacks, so she's pretty understanding about the whole thing. When we finally get a house, she's going to be the one decorating it. As long as I can keep accumulating stuff, I am fine with it ! LOL

Very NICE! :-P
Turn some of the pics so they are right side up!
Very impressed with the arcade cabs and pinballs- nice cram job into such a small space

Great to see your pics DreamTR-
looking at them I can honestly say that you are as crazy as my good friend "videogames"

Thanks guys, I'll attempt to get some more right now, but it won't be much...I've got LOTS of stuff in boxes, so I will open a couple to show what I have in them, and try and make some type of normal description.

Rbudrick: No HI-ReS Pics. I have a VERY old Polaroid Digital Camera from last decade.

Ok, I just took these TODAY...so these are more up to date....

(The top part of my closet where are the protos are.)

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/DreamTR/ColecoIntellimore.jpg

(the updated corner where my boxed Intellivision and Colecovision games are, as well as the 300+ NES protos and boxed Atari 2600 games on the shelves. Everything is double and triple backed)

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/DreamTR/EntertainmentCenter.jpg

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/DreamTR/GBShelves.jpg

(the majority of the boxed original GB collection arranged carefully around file boxes filled with GB, GBC, and GBA boxed games) Also, the file boxes in the back are sitting on top of a chest with nearly 600 Famicom games inside.

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/DreamTR/MoreGames.jpg
(N64 collection, a few PSP games, Lynx games in the brown box at top, plenty of boxed 2600 games double backed on the shelves, and the complete NGAGE collection behind the PSP games)

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/DreamTR/PS2Games.jpg

(400-500 or so PS2 Games double backed to the wall in sections, and on the black shelf. I am only trying to get games that were NOT released on any other system, exclusive to PS2)

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/DreamTR/SampleGBAbox.jpg

Remember those file boxes? Each one is filled to the brim with GBA games. I think because they go two rows down, there's around 75-80 in each one of the file boxes you saw from the previous pics...As you see, there is little room for storage here.

Super Famicom games two deep, plus some 360 games....

What happens when you want to play a geo game?

Awesome collection. This is getting me motivated to take pics of my new room of doom (I moved again, but this place I will be in for awhile).

'A few PSP games' That looks like a good half of them to me.

'A couple of X360 games' That looks like almost ALL of them to me.

Dude, be careful. You've got alot of stuff superstacked and you live in earthquake country. To come home to those Saturns games laying in a broken pile would drive me up the wall.

Otherwise thats just flipping insane.

As I was looking at those I heard a voice of reason over my shoulder say 'Don't ever think thats gonna happen...EVER'.

DreamTR
04-07-2006, 11:32 PM
PapStu: If I could place them somewhere else, I would...but I have no choice...if they fall, they fall. =/

I used to have more PSP gaems, but I sell the ones that came out on other systems....can't keep all those things all over the place.....

As for XBOX 360, the only ones I am missing are some of the sports ones which I sold, but I have a buddy that is sending me them in the mail, so I guess I'll have those soon, and just be missing Elder Scrolls....I did not even realize I had so many until it started blocking the doorway of the tv stand!

thats a sweet collection man, seriously. i have to say though, i totally cringed at seeing all your neo geo games like that, id definitely move some other random system's games and put them in place of the neo geo games so that the neo carts could have some shelf space... because you know, something like 500 nes carts is worth a hell of a lot less than those neo geo games :hmm:
dont listen to me though, obviously id be most worried about the neo stuff since its my favorite, but im sure you have your own favorite system, and thus youd be more worried about that particular system's games.

Awesome collection, Jason.

My only thought is, I think you *may* be stacking those Neo carts a bit high, bro... those things weigh a couple pounds a piece and some of your most valuable carts are at the bottom of the piles! It's like putting a 25 pound brick on a US Last Blade 2 cart... :eek 2: X_x :D

yea that was my other thought, he should probably rearrange it so that all of the bottom games are the $50 or less shit titles, also the old style cases wont dent and screw the inserts all up when pressure is applied like the new snaplocks do.

DreamTR
04-08-2006, 12:35 PM
Heh, I guess I should move some of those carts around! Most of the valuable Neo Geo carts are on the other side of the pile. The one I did not want damaged more than anything was Mark of the Wolves because I did a guide on that one! And my poor Stakes Winner has no case or manual O_O

Hate to keep harping on Neo-Geo.......but wow! Knowing you, all of the titles are original AES, but are the U.S., Japanese, or U.K.?

That Metal Slug and Rage of the Dragons has me salivating.

Out of curiosity, what is the most you ever payed for 1 game (not including Nintendo World Championship)?

Like, how much was that Metal slug?

drwily: that case is makeshift, it's not an original insert because some of the higher end carts I have are cart only. I purchased them from a store called Game Dude....I think I only paid around $300 for the cart many years ago, and I figured if I ever saw a complete one in the wild, I'd go for it, but $2000 for a box and manual? I just made my own case....

Most of the newer stuff like Rage of the Dragons I just picked up from www.neo-geo.com when they first came out.

Yeah, I hear you! I remember GameDude....California based mailorder company with an "outback dude" for a mascot. LOL

Brings back memories, I think that is the company I traded all of my NES titles for credit to buy a launch day SNES.

Wow again... I had to post now that more pics are up. Great pics, DreamTR. Great Job, man. Now if you really wanna freak em out, do a photoshoot of your 10 bazillion protos. BWA HA HA HA HA!

All those games and you've only got that really old camera? ;) Heh heh, just jabbin' at ya. I mostly just wanted a better shot of the Gold to differentiate it from the others (so I can see the fine scratches and other blemishes all Gold NES carts have...they aren't numbered, so that's how I "fingerprint" the gold carts. Those tiny marks actually show up great in most pics of gold carts when there's no glare). Yep, still working on that damn book. Still collecting interviews from finalists and such, an it's slow, but I'm finding them here and there.

drwily: Most I ever spent on a cart was a gold NWC from eBay for $1877 at one time. The only time I bid close to that was on the unreleased Fighting Simulator Game at $1700 for NES.....

rbudrick: there are NO scratches on my gold NWC. Of the 6 gold NWCs I came across, I kept the one that was brand new, basically. It is as mint as mint can be. No joke. I can tell you where all of the ones that came in my hands went, after that, I could not tell ya....I know of the whereabouts and cost of all 5 I traded, and the two grays I got rid of as well.

Now as far as a camera, I'm not exactly mr. technology here...I just got an old flat panel monitor the other day, and I don't even have iPod, mp3 players, or any of that...just game related stuff, and one HDTV for component video stuff, and one without HDTV so I can play fighting games on component without latency...

As much as I love your collection of games, my eyes keep drawing towards your Black Knight 2000 machine. I've wanted one of those ever since I first played it back in 89/90, but pinball machines are always too expensive to buy / upkeep :(

Free space. ;)

DreamTR
04-09-2006, 01:33 PM
Damn you portnoyd!!!!

Portnoyd: I need your address, I'm trying to send you this Famicom Box instruction book.

As for Black Knight 2000...that and Elvira I played quite I bit when I was 13-14 at Mailbu Grand Prix. I was always playing arcade games, but back then I morphed to pinball and have never really looked back, so a few pieces from 1989-1996 have caught my eye that I want to own eventually. Because I have no space here, I have to keep a Street Fighter III: Third Strike Cabinet and a dedicated Super Street Fighter II Turbo Q Sound cabinet at my buddy's store. He's selling the store currently, so I might have to move ST over here, and sell the 3S cabinet without the 3S board.

One of these days whe I have a house/retail store, I want to own dedicated cabinets of these:

Donkey Kong
Popeye
Mario Bros.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (so I can interchange MK2 with it)
Killer Instinct

I have the boards for all of the ones above, but I am probably going to have to sell them to get cabinets anyway.

As for pinballs, I want:
Demolition Man
Tales of the Arabian Nights
Big Bang Bar (I'll probably NEVER own this one, as my old boss at the Capcom Nickel City I worked at sold it for $1500 KNOWING I wanted it eventually. Now it's worth a crazy amount of money because only 9-10 exist

Speaking of Gamedude, do you regularly buy games there? I'm just wondering as I go in there every other week or so. The best score I got there was all 6 Megaman games for NES complete at one time.
Don't mean to go off topic.

DreamTR
04-09-2006, 06:31 PM
Max: no, it's a cabinet that was converted from NInja Turtles, and I am still keeping the board.

donkeykong: I go 3-4 times a week there sometimes. I saw the Mega Man stuff there complete before, but their prices if you already have sthe stuff are not comparable for resale for me. Great if you don't have the games, though.

Kitsune Sniper
04-09-2006, 06:40 PM
The only time I bid close to that was on the unreleased Fighting Simulator Game at $1700 for NES.....

Pardon the threadjacking, but is that related to the Hiryu No Ken/Flying Dragon series? I've played a few of those games and they're rather fun, if frustrating. If this is a game on the series, which one of those was it?

DreamTR
04-09-2006, 10:27 PM
Kitsune, I think it's the same game as the 2 in 1 Fighting Simulator released on the Game Boy, but I am not 100% certain.

Even better, DreamTR. That identifies it just as well. The lack of scratches or other tiny artifacts would easily identify your cart out of the 26 in a lineup. Also, the label on all gold carts were hand-applied, so they are put on the gold carts slightly differently (usually noticeable on the Y axis, but a bit on the X axis).

About technology I know, lol, tell me about it. I don't own a digital camera either, or an ipod, GPS, etc. My flat panel was something I won at work, and I'll probably wait for someone to give me a HD TV long before I'll ever break down and buy one. For most of my pics I have to take, I have to borrow someone else's camera or use my scanner. Maybe I'm too cheap, but I think it's more like things just eventually happen to land in my lap without my effort. Maybe I just don't see the need. Always having the newest gadgets are not my thing. Old gadgets, on the other hand... ;)

But, should you ever find yourself with nothing to do and find yourself magically holding a newer camera (or if you have a scanner), I'd love a great pic of it, especially now with the knowledge that it is in perfect condition. It's the poster child of all NWC carts! :) That's awesome man. How'd you manage that? Do you keep it in bubble wrap or something?

-Rob

DreamTR
04-10-2006, 01:26 PM
I keep it in bubble wrap in a Nintendo Case in a fireproof safe.....I'm pretty picky about that one, but not on my usual stuff. I always think games are meant to be played, so condition is not always a factor for me, but with the gold NWC, there's really something about how "perfect" this one looks.

Ed Oscuro
04-10-2006, 01:35 PM
Games before new tech: hey, it's all about priorities.

But scanners are really pretty cheap now. You can get an amazing HP one for $150 or less now, and mine from 2002 is sweet.

If you do take a picture of an item for future proof and it gets posted somewhere, suddenly you've lost your proof of ownership (take more pictures and stash 'em somewhere, but that wouldn't help if a thief had your cart, only really if somebody tried to claim they took pictures of your stuff).

Were you there earlier today? Some guy walked out with about 20 boxed NES games that they were holding for him. I was wondering if that was you.

DreamTR
04-12-2006, 01:52 AM
donkeykong: nope. Those games had been sitting there for about a week or so, and I pilfered the complete mint Nobunaga's Ambition II for $12 a day earlier. I "almost" went today, but they did not have KOF Neowave for Xbox in yet.....
