That dang Food Fight error!

Hi all, I am a newbie to MAME and retrogaming, but old enough to have played most of these machines to death back in the day. I have the ROM for Food Fight and yes, it comes up with NVRAM failed. I know all about hitting the button to get past that error, but after that it says "turn self test switch off to end." I have tried every key and cant get out of this mode to get to the game. Can anyone please help? I would appreciate it! Been dying to play one of my old favorites since I recently won one of those X-arcade sticks.

Well, you could always settle for the 7800 version, I suppose. AtariAge should have the ROM, but you may have to find the emulator (I prefer MESS myself) elsewhere.

Yes but even the 7800 version of Food Fighter has a glitch...get too many
men and your game will lock up on a blank screen. A friend did that with
my game and he had 17 men.
