Exotic is sometimes used with the connotation that it's something out of the norm or somewhat rare, or unique. That is how we are using it in this thread. The FM Towns Marty is exotic as fuck. you can take that to the bank.
Maybe you are thinking of erotic? If you are thinking of erotic, then I agree, that would be kinda scarry if somebody actually thought a system was erotic :eek 2:
I have a PC Engine Duo R modded with a region switch and a blue LED. It is so cool, very cool. I bought it from Smokehouse who posted above through Neo-Geo.com for $200. I love it and play it everyday all the fucking time, even more than my Neo Geo cab. I'm probably gonna sell my cab and buy a Supergun.
I used to have a Neo Geo AES, but sold it a few months ago.
BTW, Smokehouse is a GREAT seller, just in case you didn't know.

Only 2 so far:
Pioneer Laseractive
JVC X'Eye
Would a Virtual Boy be considered exotic? If so, you can add that to my humble list! LOL

Well, I don't deal with imports. If I can't find it while flea market and thrift store shopping, then I generally don't bother. But here's my list.
Pioneer LaserActive with MegaLD module
Atari Jaguar with JagCD
TurboDuo (recently bought a bare console, need to order some parts to get it running)
Vectrex
Nuon (both a Samsung N501 and a Toshiba SD-2300)
I've also got some oddball systems that I wouldn't count as 'exotic' exactly. Machines like the View-Master Interactivevision and the Action Max wouldn't be considered 'exotic', more like 'steaming piles of crap'. And I have some gear that not a lot of people have, like a Gizmondo and a Nokia N-Gage QD. And at the lowest end of the exotic scale, I have a Philips CD-i, a Memorex VIS, and a Telegames DINA.

Consolized MVS here.
Pioneer Laseractive, Atari Jaguar CD, TurboDuo, SuperGrafx, Vectrex are all on my to-buy list.

I own a Neo-Geo AES and a turbo express. That's it for my meager list. I hope to be getting a PC Engine Duo-R or a PC Engine Duo-RX pretty soon.

The closest I come is a Sega CD-X. Got it for $50 on closeout way back when I used to work at Software, Etc.

I've got a Duo-R, and a Game Axe if that counts.
It's the blue debug PS1 that usually catches people off-guard, though. They're like, "why is that Playstation blue?" LOL

I've got a 30001 series PS2 that still plays all 4 types of discs. I'd definitely call that exotic ;)

Picked up an AES & a Nomad (relatively exotic- never released in UK (where I live) so I'm counting it) since my last posting- and both of them work, too! Got them both for about £40 net so I'm chuffed with that. :)

As for me, the only system I have out of the initial list is a Neo-Geo AES (bought it for myself as a Christmas present in '05). However, I have 2 different CD-i's (Magnavox CDI 200, Philips CDI 615), a Sega CDX, a Nomad, and 2 different PAL SNES's (a difficult task in the US...one is UK, the other is SCN). There's probably more I'm forgetting...

The only exotic systems in my collection are a JVC X'Eye, which is in my entertainment center right now, and a Vectrex. The vectrex only cost me $2, but didn't include any games. Both systems were from garage sales. I'm rather proud of the x'eye since it it was complete with the original box and everything.
I don't really go out of my way looking for these exotic systems, but I always am on the lookout. I'm hoping/dreaming to come across a Neo Geo or Turbographx at a garage sale someday. I'm not that big of a collector. I'm mainly looking fo rpgs and the best games for the systems I find, as cheaply as possible.

I have...
JVC X'Eye
Sega CDX
US Turbo Duo
original pre-lockout Genesis (borderline)
Super 8
Sega Sports Dreamcast (borderline)
I used to have a Neo Geo AES. Actually, it was the Korean variant, called Vic-A, which seems to be more uncommon, but not worth any more.
I'm seriously considering a CD32. But I'm thinking it might be too hard to find an SX-32 and ProModule, which are part of the system's appeal for me. Similarly, I might like a LaserActive, except the games specifically for it seem to be too hard to find.

Vectrex (free)
Odyssey (free)
Laseractive+Sega unit $100 bucks with some games/movies
Someone else mentioned cybiko, i have one of those too.
I'd like to get a nice high-end PCE CD console (or even better, the laseractive module), and the pokemon mini.
Laseractive is sweet. And makes the xbox look small: http://kevlargibs.net/cryomancer/laseractivehueg.jpg

I have a few systems that are on the lower end of exotic. In terms of aspirations, I would love to have a Vectrex, SuperGrafx & a NeoGeo AES with a converter for MVS games. One can dream.
As for my "exotics":
TurboDuo (US) (semi-exotic, but I have a Kisado. The Arcade Card games are exotic in my book)
TurboExpress (another semi-exotic. Had to replace that cap to fix the sound, but it works like a charm.)
JVC X'Eye, modified with region switch and blue LED (I don't care if the "collectability" is ruined. I'm not selling it anyway. All of my mods are personally done, and this is one of my best. Region switch is key for playing YuYu Hakusho, Alien Soldier & Pulseman. No more Game Genie codes!)
Virtual Boy (I consider it semi-exotic at this point. It is at least as uncommon as a Duo; probably moreso. Inspires the "WTF!?!? You have one of these? Is it any good?")
A/V Famicom with Famicom Disk System (Definitely draws some serious attention from people since most I know were part of the NES age. "You have a Japanese Top Loader!?!?! OMG!?!? What's that maroon box it's sitting on?" Proceed to turn on the real SMB2... Gets 'em every time.)

Virtual Boy(I consider it semi-exotic at this point. It is at least as uncommon as a Duo; probably moreso. )
Possibly, however I've only come across one Turbo Duo in the wild, vs. multiple Virtual Boys (can't confirm if all the VB's worked properly though...or had been "dropped").

I just recalled that I have another semi-exotic game console, the Xavix GamePort. It's a current console that nobody seems to know that much about, which is a shame. It's graphics are fairly primitive, but the games are fun. The Bowling game is far superior than the Wii Sports Bowling game, in my opinion. It's a strange little console where the games are designed to be motion sensitive, which will probably disappear soon because it pales in comparison to the Nintendo Wii. I've got the Bowling game, Tennis, and as of a few days ago, Jackie Chan's Boxing.

The only exotic systems I own are:
