I was under the impression that you can only be invited to become a powerseller? Well, I have 160 postive feedbacks now , no negis, I sell tons of stuff on ebay and I have recieved no word from ebay about becoming a powerseller. Is there something special you have to do?

"Each month eBay automatically sends email invitations to qualified sellers. To qualify, members must:

Have been an active member for 90 days
Average a minimum of $1000 in sales per month, for three consecutive months
Achieve an overall Feedback rating of 100, of which 98% or more is positive
Have an account in good financial standing"

Becoming a Powerseller is over-rated. I just recently lost my powerseller status (due to lack of sales) after being a powerseller for over one year.

The only thing different, is you get 'spammed' alot by Ebay with special offers.
The added customer support is no better than their regular support. I still receive little or no help at all with their 'cut and paste' answers to my questions.

That, and they kept calling me at home to try to sell me Turbolisters and Sales Managers. Stuff I didnt need.

I'm a Silver Powerseller, the last few times I emailed support, about serious matters, (about 4 times) I got NO response..

This is since they closed their powerseller support line in the UK (they changed the goalposts as to what level sellers could access it.. and changed the requirements for each level of powerseller..)

So the only benefit is an icon, you dont even get lower fees.

Also, in my experience... PowerSellers are mostly assholes who don't care for their customers.

No, really, I've had NOTHING but bad experiences with them. :\ I dunno about any DP power sellers, but random ones are awful.

I fully agree with kitsune s. I often look down upon many powersellers. It really goes to show how it's not your feedback number that counts, but the percentage.

Probably half of my transactions with mass sellers have gone wrong, so many that I rarely buy from any at all.

The only mass sellers I really deal with are the Japanese ones and I have never had a problem thankfully. There are some great US sellers who do some volume, but the larger resellers are only good for small stuff like replacement parts.

I've been a powerseller off/on for a few years. Best thing I got out of it was the opportunity to buy an eBay coffee mug that says powerseller on it.

Meh..

I dont think im like that, but, well, you never know LOL

I try and follow good practises on eBay, treat others as I'd want to be treated myself..

Some sellers are terrible, just bought a Saturn, 9 games and memory card off an eBayer with 7 feedback. They charged me extortionate P+P (fair enough, it was disclosed in the auction) but ive just received a package today, inside a "sorry your mail was damaged" bag.

They sent 7 out of the 9 games, simply wrapped in one thin layer of brown PAPER! (which of course was ripped in the post), and there is no Saturn and memory card (how can you forget to post a Saturn?!)

Emailed the seller, no response as of yet.. oh the joys of eBay!
