I think I'm gonna need some back story for this one. What ads?

That's a riot.
Oh, and it's a spoof of Sony's recent PSP ads where squirrels discuss how the PSP is like a nut that you can play with outside. I believe they've been accused of being too urban, to the point of being somewhat racially stereotyped.
I find them stupid but harmless. No worse than many other ad campaigns, at least they do show some gameplay footage unlike many ads!

Will watch the ads in a bit.
For now, though, it's fine until Bill Cosby says it ain't. Then it ain't. ;)

"borderline racist" and "derogatory"?
I find the ads annoying as well, but calling them racist is just stupid hypersensitivity.

They're still really annoying as hell though.

hypersensitivity is just a front for assimilationist policies and racist against ebonics, amirite

Ok - I hadn't really paid attention to the dust balls ones - I could potentially see how some people might find those a bit insulting. Nothing that hasn't been done before by Taco Bell and a talking dog, but certainly could be taken the wrong way.

I could only get one of those 4 links to work (the first one), but I thought it was pretty damn funny. It doesn't advertise the product very well, but I didn't find it annoying. Then again, I liked the stupid Xbox 360 commercial where they ponder eating the games for dinner.
Funny thing is, most family members tell me to shut because I tend to go on too much about how I hate certain commercials when they come on, as I tend to hate annoying ads far more than the average person. In fact, I boycott products when I don't like the ads. To this day I will not step foot in a Chile's restaurant because their baby back ribs commercials pissed me off so much.
So, you might say I am hypersensitive to stupid annoying ads. If they make me laugh, though, they don't fall into that category with me.
I can see that these ads are bizarre, but I'm not sure how they are annoying.
EDIT: Ok, I got the second and thrid ones to load. I can see the annoyingness now. The first one wasn't bad at all. You know, I think these ads would have been much better without the accents, so I can see that now. In fact, the last two would have been great without the accents, and much funnier. In fact, I think all these ads needed to be good ads were to drop the damn accents...I just don't see the point of them other than to maybe rub certain folks the wrong way and puzzle others. Weird.

Suddenly, I'm inspired to call Microsoft's ad agency. LOL

Spoken like a true cracker. ;)
Yes, that's called being tongue in cheek, kids.
I hate those comercialls, not for the racial crap (althought the fack that dust balls have a latino accent does annoy me), but for the sheer stupidity of them.

I could care less if the commercials are racist.
The commercials are just absolutely horrible no matter what. Putting in 'urban' themes just make the commercials even worse than they already are.
They're so not wicked good.

I wonder if the author laughed at it. I almost feel like going to his forums and asking "am I going to hell for laughing at that article?" If he responded "yes," I would be able to throw the book at him (the bible) LOL

I'm not particularly thrilled with any commercial that has an "urban" theme. Why?
I see it so much that it's become old and tired. The biggest offender of overuse has been McDonald's and thier radio commercials.

I'm the same way with Old Navy. I've waited outside on the ground while my wife goes in there. Most annoying commercials EVER.

Nope. I have to give this one to Chili's.
I want my baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back RIBS.
I remember reading stories of people destroying their TV's because of that song. The hatred for that commercial will never cease.

I don't watch too much TV so I had to view the commercials provided by Oobgarm, thanks!
After watching the REALLY lame commercials the comic was a bit more funny. I don't care about the racial stuff because if enough people care it'll be taken off, but I really do think this marketing is pretty horrible.

I always thought they were pretty funny, at least the ones with the squirrels, I don't like the dust bunnies. I honestly never thought of anything racial when I watched them before but I can see where people would see that. But I still think they are funny.
